Take eight pawns and pretend they are all queens. Place them all on
a chess board in such a way that they can't take each other. Trust me
it can be done. A Yugaslavian friend of mine showed me the answer
years ago and I cant remember the solution, so if anyone gets it
please let me know. Thanx!

a4, b8,c1,d7,e2,f6,g3,h5. i think. basically you just put them on a1,b8,c2,d7 etc, then move them all to the right and the one that falls off goes on the other end...πŸ˜‰

Make them all the same color, then put them wherever you want. They can't take each other since they're the same color. No problem.

The real question is "How many solutions are there?"

I answer "92 solutions".

We had to write code in school to solve this. Look up "eight chess queens" on google, and you'll find similar code that arrives at the same conclusion.

zach918-There has been a lot of talk of late about posts lacking substance. I have no problem with these per se, just, I implore you, talk about "Posers and "Puzzles" in this forum. Thanks.
