how is empty space expanding?

what's the best guess as to why space is expanding? Dark energy is just other dimensions "pushing" on us. String theory says there must be 11 dimensions for the math to work.

Momentum.

Momentum.
momentum = mass * velocity

Empty space has neither mass (the trivial virtual particles count for nothing here) nor velocity thus no momentum.
You are taking complete gibberish yet again.

Your counter is broken.

Can you be more specific as to how "momentum" describes the expansion of space?

If it didn't expand there would be no universe.

That explains 'how we know' but somehow I don't think that was the kind of "why" he meant.
I personally don't have the necessary expert knowledge to even come close to adequately answering what I assume was his intended meaning of his question.

Not only that, it explains the how of how it's happening.

Guess it isn't gibberish after all, huh.

Then enlighten us poor broken beings with your greatly expanded knowledge.

In my mind, I envision creation as the drop of the stone into a pond, with the effect of rippling outward.
I believe what we "see" are the reverberations of that splash, somewhat akin to the diminishing vibrations of a cymbal crash.

Do you know what momentum is?

You see what I mean about the arrogant Kaze or is it Ezak?

Fairly well. Your post suggests to me an experience with a hallucinogenic substance, but not an understanding of physics.
