The topic is what equal means in math. All the different things that it can mean and how it is viewed by people.
If you have a better example of how equal is used to imply different things, that would be great. If you want to belabor minutia, then that's your folly.
Although yes, not apple is exactly the same as another, there are apples so similar that people would not be able to tell them apart.
Are we talking about math? Then you are wrong.
In everyday life, two cars are the same as long they have four wheels.
But this is math. Then equal is equal. And if they are not equal, they are just not equal.
There are not two apples that are equal in math. In everyday life they are all alike, more or less. But not in math.
So are we talking about math or everyday life?
An correct answer for you is: "Yes, of course you're right an I'm wrong. I wasn't clear. Let me start all over again." That's enough, and we take it from there.
But if you say: "I'm never wrong and you're a jerk", then I draw the conclusion that you are not honest, you are a teen, you have a diagnose, you are just stubborn, you are weak, or something else. But you will not have my respect. Do you care?

Humy is an example of yhe kind of person I am talking about.
Perhaps you are incapable of looking at math from anything other than your perspective.

So you don't like humy? I say humy deserves why more respect that you do. Did you see how freely he admitted that he was wrong, corrected himself, and continued to discuss the matter with the new information at hand. He is worth all respect.
If you don't like humy show us more about you than him.
Just admit that there are every apple is unique from every other apple, just say that you're wrong, and then we can go further in the interesting topic you yourself put up in this thread - how to define 'equal' mathematically.

What is it about you that you find it so impossible to understand that the person who started the thread would actually like to discuss the thread's topic?

When someone find that fault, then you have to correct it, and not getting stuck with it.
You called me jerk once. That's the point when you lost it altogether. Never deliver an insult, ever!

So humy did not make a false assumption based on a faulty understanding of equal?
People do not make faulty assumptions when they believe the square root of x squared is x?
By the way, you are a jerk, or perhaps arrogant self righteous arse would be a better description.

Humy is way smarter than you are. If one of you two is wrong, then it is you.
Sorry, but you asked...
Bad that an interesting topic like this is so utterly destroyed by its owner...

Only trying to find fault as a form of fun is one way one can be a jerk or arse.

You should be happy that people find the error in an early stage so you don't have to make a fool out of yourself.
Instead of admitting that you were wrong and start over again without the error, you tried to evade the error, lie about the error, and hope that people would look the other way. Then you failed gravely.
This is Science Forum. Go to Spiritual Forum, where noone agrees on anything, where errors in reasoning are permitted, where opinions are based on faith and don't have to be correct. That doesn't work in Science Forum where truths are hold higher.

Until you start doing that, you simply show yourself to be an arse.

In any case, I think you should remove your nose from his buttocks.

But as I've said, over and over again, you cannot build any reasoning by starting out with an error. That will unconditionally fail. Your inability to take advises to correct this error shows very well that you don't master the subject.
Is math too hard for you?

Some math is too difficult, but others not. My level of math abilities and understanding far outstrips half the population. It far outstrips most high school math teachers, which is quite a shame.
My ability to communicate math outstrips most whose math abilities are equal or better than mine.
This is a shame as well.

You obviously overestimate your qualifications in math.
Your condition is actually far worse than I expected.
