Originally posted by RussI guess I had missed that subtlety - it makes a lot more sense for those who are online often to be involved as greeters. i.e. it just does not make sense for me, as the reception for a newbee cannot be the same if I move and then log off.
If you are the last greeter to be active (to have made a move) with capacity spare, you will be offered the game.
Resigning from the role without a game. Sniff :-(
You're not missing much. I've had 5, 1 deleted the game, 2 haven't moved, 1 doesn't chat or require assistance, 1 asked one question, that's it. If you don't make at least one move per day in the games it's probably better if you're not taking on people who need encouraging.
P.S. You have my cat. If yours is a boy cat maybe we could do a deal. 🙂
If he's making regular moves in the other game, PM the other player. He may think you're only there if he gets in trouble.
Does anyone have any idea what a newcomer sees when he signs up? I tried creating a fakeID to find out, but RHP's done a good job of discouraging that - my PC said I was logged in as Kewpie, another PC refused to accept my email address because it had seen it before. I tried with a fake email but then it demanded a verification, so I had to give up. It's easier to ask Russ for a screenshot than to create a barrowload of fake email addresses for this sort of task.
Does anyone know how often the greeter list is updated, showing how many games a greeter currently has available?
I'm just curious because my game as a greeter ended earlier this morning but the list still shows it as being active.
I'm only playing one at a time so it's not a big deal, but I was just wondering.
Originally posted by mwmillerIt's been about 24 hours since my game was completed and the list has now been updated, so maybe once a day is the answer.

Originally posted by KewpieIncidentally, I did PM the other player...he had no response from 'my chap' also...then, all of a sudden, he started our game. No responses to anything mentioned in game. I looked him up and he's a golf pro apparently...

Just quick question, a lazy one which is probably included 'somewhere', but how can I change my 'active number of games' settings within 'w' games...I want to up the number ??
Click "Greeters" link
You will see a new window with a list of greeters and at the upper left there should be an "edit" link for yourself.
You can edit your message and number of games.
Be sure to click update when you're done.
