A deep and divisive subject.

Should a woman have a right to choose? What are the boundaries, and why?

What about the man? What rights for him?

aargh I specifically avoided that. I have strong opinions but don't want to set them in stone, was hoping to learn, to see other sides. So leunammi (nice name, what is the meaning for you?) what do you think?

If you believe life is not precious and has no intrinsic value and is not God-given, we will be talking past each other. So maybe that framework should first be established.

Nice.
It's a womans choice first and foremost, right?

Like I said in my "spirituality forum" thread, people are dissillusionioned with this forum.

I do not believe life is God given, but still view life as precious and with intrinsic value. Your repeated assumption that life without God is meaningless is itself, meaningless.

Would you say the ingredients of a chemical soup are also precious and have intrinsic value?

I think the complexity of the subject means that one cannot legislate so easily as it appears many people would like.

So life with God is "meaningless"?

No, I must disagree.

I think the tragedy of abortion at its root is nothing more than homage to Moloch. I am not saying anybody is worshiping Moloch, we have been blinded for sure but abortion is a personal sacrifice no matter how you look at it.

You mean the sacrifice of a person.

Your belief on the subject boils down to belief in God.

Do you believe man is simply a glorified animal to be treated as such or a being made in the image of God that is distinct from the animal kingdom with natural rights?

That is the dividing line.

For an atheist, life only has meaning if we assign it meaning.

Otherwise it is meaningless.
