I'd say this:
T.C. is an eejit, given. T.C. = celeb y. Therefore, if Joe Soap, person x, adopts a "belief system" because celeb y has done so, then the foolishness of person x is exponentially proportionate to the original stupidity of celeb y.
And if Bob Lunchpale follows person x's example, then the same is true, until finally the earth careers into the sun.
