@chaney3 saidSmall minds enjoy discussing people.
When a Christian, or preacher of Jesus' commandments consistently resorts to abusive words towards others, it should be crystal clear that they are not true disciples of Jesus.
When you can muster the brain cells let me know if have a point to make regarding the opening post

@ghost-of-a-duke saidI've given the definition of persecution, and it doesn't mention stabbings or murder.
Words Chaney seems to be struggling with:
1. Persecution
2. Atheist.
"Hostility and ill treatment of others, based on religious beliefs".
This happens all the time here. Please peruse your dictionary. Thank you.
@chaney3 saidYou have shamefully watered down 'persecution' belittling the experiences of people who have genuinely endured it.

@ghost-of-a-duke saidPersecution is persecution, in whatever form it is.
You have shamefully watered down 'persecution' belittling the experiences of people who have genuinely endured it.
What's shameful is your defense, at all costs, of those who verbally abuse others, simply because you "like" them
Rajk and Dive are abusive. Period.
Yet you ignore it. That's shameful.

@ghost-of-a-duke saidYou realize that an atheist quoting the bible to make a point is a form of mockery, because you don't believe those words yourself.
The wise of heart will receive commandments, but a babbling fool will come to ruin.

@ghost-of-a-duke saidSaieth the atheist, who believes none of it.
There is plenty of wisdom in the Bible.
You should read it sometime.

But the right attitude might be to expect it and tolerate it.
Our presence here is to just make posts and keep our composure... Of course, I've not always done that.
But if we flame, we're in the wrong.
@philokalia saidIt's refreshing to see an honest and sane post here. Thanks. We don't see a lot of them.

@rajk999 saidMatthew 25:45-46 English Standard Version (ESV)
Sonships supporting passage for believing that all non Christians [apparently from the time of Adam to now] will be eternally tormented is this :
[i]We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth; So that we ourselves glory in you in the chur ...[text shortened]... d and do not obey Christ's teachings
Jesus will judge who these people are at the appointed time.
Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
Jude 1:7
just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.
Matthew 18:8
And if your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life crippled or lame than with two hands or two feet to be thrown into the eternal fire.
Matthew 25:41
“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
John 3:36
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
Romans 5:9
Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.
There are so many verses warning us of the wrath of God abiding on us, for those not justified by the blood of Jesus Christ. It isn't an argument you need to see, just read the scriptures, our opinions are meaningless compared to the scripture.
