Jesus said, "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; he that believeth not shall be damned" (Mark 16:16). It seems very clear that we must be baptized in order to be saved.

"The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance" (2 Peter 3:9).
And how did He go about this? He offered His only Son as a propitiation for the sins of all people, so whosoever believes in Him is saved.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life... Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God" (John 3:16,18).
Yes, I have a right to be saved because I believe in the Lord Jesus. I have confidence that I am saved because the Lord is trustworthy.
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning" (James 1:17).

Way to go Epiphinehas! Took ol' Huck apart piece by piece. Higher criticism if I ever saw it!π

I have no idea what you're insinuating here. Explain yourself.
EDIT: You remind me of a less conspicuously godless version of no1marauder: arguing from scripture without having the least bit of faith in it.

You might have such a limited mind; that doesn't mean we all do. I'm able to evaluate and parse information, accepting some, rejecting others. I don't HAVE to accept anything wholecloth. I am saddened that you do.
