I wonder how that thief managed to get off the cross, find a baptistry, then get back ON the cross with no one recording it? And don't give me that Darby-invented dispensationalism rubbish: if one man can be saved without baptism, then so can another.

Ok Pinky let me ask you this? Do you think God can save whoever He wants... or do you think you have a right to be saved by doing what you think is right.

God can save whoever He wants. And who does He want to save? Everybody!

"The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance" (2 Peter 3:9).

And how did He go about this? He offered His only Son as a propitiation for the sins of all people, so whosoever believes in Him is saved.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life... Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God" (John 3:16,18).

Yes, I have a right to be saved because I believe in the Lord Jesus. I have confidence that I am saved because the Lord is trustworthy.

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning" (James 1:17).

And all of your verses, except one, refers to abptism but not as a prerequisite to salvation. If all you have is one verse insisting on baptism, and I have 10 that basically repeat John 3:16, guess whoich ones have more "gravitas"?

I have no idea what you're insinuating here. Explain yourself.

EDIT: You remind me of a less conspicuously godless version of no1marauder: arguing from scripture without having the least bit of faith in it.

again and again and again.... come on pink panther accept the bible as a whole or throw it away. I admit you have to believe and have faith.. I also believe the rest of the Bible whether it be one verse or 10 verses it all matters.

You might have such a limited mind; that doesn't mean we all do. I'm able to evaluate and parse information, accepting some, rejecting others. I don't HAVE to accept anything wholecloth. I am saddened that you do.

At least donate the pages you ripped out of your bible to someone who wants to know the truth after you evaluated Gods word and disregarded it.

The pages remain. I'm not a Philistine who destroys things I don't accept literally.
