What about the other religions in the world apart from Christianity? Don't you count their scriptures as evidence of "God"?

Admission: I watch the show 'Ancient Aliens' on the History channel. Not because I believe in aliens, but....because I learn a lot about history, that I previously did not know.

My point: It seems that 'most' of the stories from the Bible, have a birth from an ancient culture in the distant past. It almost seems as if the stories from the Bible have been merely written down, almost plagarised from the stories from our ancestors.

To answer your question: I truly have no idea what ancient texts are true, and which 'religions' may hold the true answer. The story of the 'great flood of Noah' has been written many, many times before it entered the Bible.

FMF.......I really have NO idea what is true?

I believe as Ghost believes.....that I merely 'HOPE' that God exists.....to make sense of our world.....here...and the afterlife.

I have made a sincere effort to explain myself, and I hope it suffices.

I am blunt, candid and honest ~ dunno about humble ~ all the time on this forum and always have been. Your: "Maybe I am a fool, but.....your answer seemed quite humble and honest" is, of course, a clumsy attempt at a snide put down which your track record here does not qualify you to dish out..

I've always had your card marked as a non-Christian who is here to troll Christians in a rather artless way. When hardly any of them would talk to you, you amused yourself by heaping caustic abuse on a few individuals who did engage you.

I have discussed my loss of belief with numerous people across numerous threads here over the years. I am not going to sit here and type stuff about myself for you.

The kind of post that sums up what your persona is here on this forum is this kind of stuff: "Hey a-hole, I will not get into the same nonsense you did with others. Read my OP jerk off. God cannot be defended, a-hole. Maybe we have a warped opinion of who God is.....a-hole" from a couple of months ago, and you've posted the same kind of juvenile trash over and over again in the meantime. You have laid out your stall. Suffice to say, I lost my belief in the Bible and without belief in it, one can no longer self-identify as a Christian.

Your point is understood; you believe the Bible is "BS" and "man made" and that Christians don't know anything about God. So that's why I am asking you: what about the other religions in the world apart from Christianity? Do you or don't you count their scriptures as evidence of "God"? Might any of them work for you if you deem yourself to need a God figure?

I'm not quite sure where that came from, but.....I have a good idea.

I read a book once called "The Case for Christ", and in the book, the author interviewed a former.....again FORMER Christian. This person described how he lost his faith, and seemed almost sad.....very sad, that he did.

When the author left this person's home, he jotted down that this man who has lost his faith in Jesus.....appears not ONLY to have lost his faith....but, his best friend in the world.....Jesus. This man truly missed Jesus, as his friend.....and, that is exactly what I take from your words.

You have admitted that some of your interpersonal problems here stem from your alcoholism. There's no need to go over it all again.

You think that I am "very sad" that I have lost my "best friend in the world" Jesus?

I have made sober posts this evening, which have nothing to do with that. Why would you bring that up?

You have lost your faith for a real reason. Something bad has happened to you, probably. Don't take it out on me. It sounds as if you miss Jesus, just as the man in the book.......so, take it up with God, not me.

To answer Ghost and vistesd......humans have NO idea who our Creator is....without the Bible. As I said earlier, take the Bible out of the equation, and we are like the Egyptians, merely looking at the sun........and wondering.

FMF......do you realize that YOU are the definition of a troll?

You have nothing to contribute to this thread.....AT ALL, and are just trying to spark a debate. That is what a troll does.

I am done with you.

As I said, without a belief in the Bible, one cannot be a Christian. Becoming a non-Christian isn't something "bad" that has happened to me. It's been entirely positive. I'm not sure why you would think I "miss Jesus" or why I would want to take up the statements you have about me with "God" when there's nothing in my posting history to suggest I would.

I disagree, sparking or contributing to a debate is what everyone does ~ or should seek to ~ on a debate or discussion forum.

Fine FMF!!!!! Let's get something straight right now. In the story of the man in the book who lost his faith, he had his reason. He looked at a Time magazine cover page and saw a woman in Africa who was holding her baby.....dead...in her arms, from thirst. This baby died from dehydration. The man was furious!!!! He said that 'If a God exists, then this baby would have survived if just from some rain."

People lose their faith for a reason FMF!!!! Stop being a phony and a FOOL!!!! You lost your faith and your Christianity!!!!! For a reason!!

Why!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I have already told you three times the reason why I lost my faith. You're just pretending that I haven't.
