At this juncture I would like to ask Christains who are fellow believers like myself in the Lord Jesus -
Does that tree of life in the garden NOT mean the life of God but maybe just an everlasting life ?
I think it represented the life of God.
We see in the creation account God made man in His image for the purpose of
coming into this man made in His image with His life.
What do you think the tree of life meant if not this ?
@sonship saidJoseph is a Christian. He wrote:
Come on folks.
Atheists FMF, Ghost of a Duke, and the founder of "The Church of No Inheritance," Rajk999 are here to boldly represent what Christianity should say about deification.
"The teaching about "deification" hasn't been suppressed. It was "concocted" in the mind of whoever it was you listened to. Just like any other heretical teaching. And there are many."
@sonship saidOh dear.
This thread is to see how many charges of "Blasphemy!!" will be leveled at me for expounding on my belief in the deification of the believers as a grand climax of God's full salvation.
Let representatives of Christianity come argue with the Bible about this. Or let them contemplate and reconsider what is plainly there in the Word of God about full salvation.
Gho ...[text shortened]... , the Forum's Bible tumping atheist, keeps bragging that the Christians have called me a blasphemer

Anything more recent?
I mean that was not the last thing I recall him and I discussing.
Our last exchanges have been quite amiable to my sense, like caution but not anathemas toward me.
Is that all your accolades, that old post ?
@divegeester
You sound distressed.
How about some substance on the passages so far elaborated on.
@sonship saidYou are a liar. You continued to browbeat josephw even though he kept telling you he is not in agreement with your nonsense. Last thing was you told him put it on the back burner and think about it, and you will talk more later. You are worse than a salesman that wont take no for an answer. You need a baseball bat in the back of your head for you to understand that NOBODY is interested ... NOBODY.

Wow. Threatening violence against another poster.
Is this what Jesus Christ commanded?
Are you following His commandments when you say that?
On with subtance than.
The tree of life, as no one yet objects, represents not just an everlasting life but man moving from his innocent and neutral position to partake of God's life as "food."
So God wanted the created man to be filled with the life of God in His innocent and neutral yet very good vessel.
After Adam joined the opposition party a three fold barrier separated Adam and his descendants from the tree of life.
An cherubim with a flaming sword turning every direction guarded the way to the tree of life.
God's righteousness - indicated by the SWORD.
God's holiness - indicated by the FLAME.
God's glory - indicated by the cherubim of glory.
The THREE-FOLD demand upon the fallen man kept him from the life of God.
All have fallen short of the glory of God and have sinned.
"And Jehovah God said, Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, let he put forth his hand and take also rfom the tree of life and eatr and live forever -
Then Jehovah God sent him forth from thegarden of Eden, to work the gorund from wehich he was taken.
So He drove the man out, and at the east of the garden of Eden He placed the cherubim and a flaming sword which turned in every direction to guard the way to the tree of life." (Gen. 3:22-24)
From THIS POINT . . . man was "alienated from the life of God." (Eph. 4:18)
Instead of deification of man there was the Satan-ification of man.
Anyone in Christianity here have a problem with this.
Latter Jewsus Christ came to fulfill on our behalf the meeting of the demand of God's righteousness, holiness, and glory on our behalf.
Praise the Lord !

Do you think he has changed his mind about deification??!
@Ghost-of-a-Duke
I think you need some more recent hearty accolades.
That one is getting old.
And since then, I sense some reasnable caution with Josephw rather than the knee-jerk hysteria you wish to generate.
And if I am wrong, regardless, I forgive him. And you still need more recent agreement. Your chance is here in THIS thread.
Where is it ?
@sonship saidHe posted it 3 days ago on the Questions for Deification Deniers thread.

Do you think he has changed his mind in those 3 days?!
The last post I see fomr Joseph on that thread was this on the 8th of March.
How can God transform a created being into an eternal being?
Anyone can go back and read the last three or four four days there.
Anyone can take up the answer I gave to him.
And that is a question to me.
It is not the accusation of blasphemy you brag is representative of all the noticably silent brothers on this thread.
A genuine question, and a good one which I think I addressed head on.
We're in THIS thread right now.

Good grief! I understand regeneration, transformation, imputation and imitation, but I don't understand deification. To my ears it gives a discordant sound.'
@sonship saidJoseph has directly accused you of blasphemy at least twice. Have you somehow managed to block that out?
It is not the accusation of blasphemy you brag is representative of all the noticably silent brothers on this thread.
Or do you require him to repeat it in every spin-off thread you create?
