@kellyjay saidYou have been citing "2+2 = 4" as an example of a "truth" that you believe in that you think somehow makes your belief in the "truth" your God figure more compelling, right? You are asserting that the "truth" your God figure's existence is just as "self-evident" as the truth of "2+2 = 4", yes?
I have it on good authority the math belongs to "Ghost of a Duke", well maybe not good authority, kind of almost trustworthy authority, well not really almost trustworthy authority, I'd say it really wasn't even an authority and not at all trustworthy. Come to think of it, it may have actually been Ghost of a Duke who said it was his, and he was asking for money to do some equations for me. 🙂
@eladar saidAnd if there were, they'd be just as wrong as you.
Logic can only be applied once assumptions are made. From my point of view I have not lost a single argument in internet forums. I am sure there are many with similar beliefs about their arguments.
@wolfgang59 saidAtheism cannot account for the existence of logic to start off with in a world with no absolutes. You’re piggybacking that off theism.
LOGIC does not belong to anyone.
You may as well dispute 2+2=4 with "whose MATH?"
@eladar saidWhy isn't some big bearded guy in the sky "magic"? Is creating a woman out of a rib "science"?
Science says you do not need to have the beginning of life just a beginning of the universe in the big bang.
Evolution takes place after life starts but life does not need to start. Silly all you need is a big bang then magically appearing life then evolution and we know this is all fact backed by science...magic and all.
@dj2becker saidYou believe LOGIC is dependent upon THEISM?

@wolfgang59 saidDo tell how time plus matter plus random chance gets you LOGIC. I have all day.
You believe LOGIC is dependent upon THEISM?
If you as an atheist think you can present a logical reason how your worldview can account for the abstract laws of logic, be my guest.
@wolfgang59 saidI believe God created the universe and its run on predictable manners for a cause, and our reasoning also comes from God. You think a universe without cause could be so finely tuned?

@kellyjay saidIt’s fascinating how some people think adding more time to the equation suddenly solves the problem. Garbage in always equals garbage out.

Why try to explain things to arrogant people who have no understanding?
Internet debate means telling other people they are wrong. If you want to have a discussion based on logic then you must have shared assumptions. If you do not then all you have is internet debate as defined earlier.

@eladar saidIn that case, why not take your unwillingness to debate to a Christian website where no one is looking for genuine discourse and everybody has more or less the same superstition-based "assumptions" as you do?
