Seen on the back of a white minivan in NE Washington State in the United States: a homemade bumper snicker declaring, "Darwin Loves You." What does it mean?

While we're at it, the school nurse should practice blood letting.

Don't joke. A nurse at my brother's school used leeches.

You know, those elasticated strips with the sticky underside that you place over cuts and stuff.

The article neither explains the bumper snicker, nor accurately summarizes the biological debates of the nineteenth century, although it is far better than most of the drivel put out by Bush and his ilk.

Pure garbage. The other article was much better informed.

I was hoping that someone would unpack the text, elucidating its clear meaning (if it has one). Your links only reveal that I'm not the only one that has seen the slogane, that it has been around for a while, and that those who enjoy quoting it to sell journalistic drivel are not driven toward the production of competent exegesis.

As is often the case in the Spirituality forums, one word from Halitose sheds more light than a dozen other posts. If it is irony, as Halitose suggests, what does it mock? What assumed "truth" does it rely upon for the mocking.

Can anyone explain those three pregnant words?

Some followers of the Bible seem to think they need to disprove Evolution and Science to prove God exists. It's a funny way of saying you don’t always need to disprove something to prove something else.

This is just a guess on my part.

That article offers up some interesting ideas between the lines (among the unstated assumptions), but still employs a title without offering clear exegesis.

I do think you've established the commonality of the assumption that the Darwin referenced on the bumper snicker is a dead Englishman, and not the latest neo-Nazi cult leader in my part of the world.
