The stars at its center are approximately 13 billion years old (nearly as old as the universe itself). It was in that moment that I realized that God had decided to create this unfathomably large cluster of stars within an infintesimally small fraction of the universe just so that a few minutes worth of light could make the long journey through empty space, through the earth's atmosphere, onto the telescope's front lens, down into the eye piece, through my pupil, and finally arrive at its destination on the back of my eye. God made this just for me. He made the globular cluster and everything in outerspace just for humans because we are the height of his creation. We are the crowning achievement. We are the best that an omniscient mind can dream up.
hmmmmm?
Do animals go to heaven? Don't be silly. Why would God want stupid creatures like dolphins and apes, when he has the very greatest beings his handiwork can produce right here with us?
Moral of the story: Animals are worthless. Humans are all God cares about. The Universe is our playground.

also, is there *anyone* here who seriously believes that animals go to heaven?
(or does anyone have a link to a thread where this was discussed?)
It all goes back to the soul. Everybody knows that animals are alive and that they have personalities. This is really all the evidence that I need. It's true that they don't reason the way we do, but who's to say they won't come back as humans?
By the way, does anybody know where the Bible talks about this?
