New measurements with a new ratio of isotopes, 87Rb V 87St reveals the age and progression of Earth's crust. Rb 87 has a half life of 48 billion years so it is ideally suited for such deep past analysis. 87St does not decay at all so just comparing the two in the same rock gives the date:

Whether the earth is 3 billion years old or a gazillion years old it makes no difference. There's no way to put it into relevant meaning in terms of the human experience. It's just the imagination run amuck with grandiose ideas designed to fluster true understanding.
