nice going dad
I suppose that's one version of it. 🙄
@gertrude saidI don't think we have to worry about "Satan" and farfetched stuff like "eternal torture". Really, why worry about it? If people believe that stuff or if people don't believe that stuff, what does it really matter? It doesn't make any difference.
god does the same thing as satan
christians love one and hate the other
no wonder the world is f'd up
Having said that, in so far as Christianity ~ through its undeniably successful spread and resilience ~ has propagated the 'Golden Rule' and ingrained things like empathy and compassion as moral virtues, then that is good.
When it has not done that, so be it. One can condemn it.

@Gertrude
I hope you won't mind an early good-bye, in case you happen to croak before I do. That someone brings amusement into the world cannot be explained by mathematics alone. And if you happen to linger for a few more years or decades, I promise I won't begrudge you that, even if you make me regret this promise.
@mchill saidYes, something like that.

The philosophical question which challenges the mainstream versions of Christianity is … why an omnipotent, omnipresent, omnibenevolent God would arrange himself and his perfect creation in such a way that the vast majority of those whom he “loved so much” he would subsequently FAIL to save, and for him (God) to end up being forced by his own standards of so-called righteousness to personally burn alive billions of people for all eternity.
It’s the most ludicrous construction of moral ineptitude and logical incoherence anyone could make up.
So it, or at least major parts of it, must be wrong.
Simple as that.

You have reservations?
How many… 247?
@gertrude saidYou believe that God should have immediately destroyed everyone as soon as evil was detected in them?
of course
and your god is either powerless in stopping it or just sits back and enjoys the little freak show he created
