Anyone can claim they have or had the Christian faith, anyone can claim they were a war
hero too, claims are worthless if not true. So someone tells me they had Jesus Christ in
their lives, He was their Lord and Savior yet never actually knew the Lord, that is like
saying they were a war hero who never saw a battle in war. Without God actually in your
life, you are just some guy making a claim about an experience you never had.

The whole Jesus has saved me thing.
I mean this in the life as well as the next. I find that the more screwed up you are the harder you tend to fall for Christ and whose lives were turned around 360 degrees.
Did you experience any positive change when you became a Christian?

You really have it in for ex-Christians, don't you?
Atheists you can brush off by saying they are living in ignorance and don't know what they are rejecting, but someone who does have a Christian faith but then walks away from it is something you just can't tolerate or comprehend. - Perhaps you fear it highlights the cracks in your own faith?
I was actually wondering when this argument was going to appear. Of course, as an atheist, you don't find anything at all unbelievable about his tale. Your filter is just not tuned to that frequency because you're convinced of the superiority of your own opinion.

This is a spirituality forum after all, if you want people to stroke each others egos and beat about the bush you have come to the wrong place.

Sounds like someone who has no idea what they are talking about. Could you be more specific?

'The whole Jesus saved me thing'. How did it hook you? You make it sound so bland.
Originally posted by @fmfOf course like a war veteran being asked about a war they fought it, and all they have to say is I fought in the war and that's all you're going to get. Sounds very believable indeed.
