So you're gay, get over yourself and live life. God and Jesus don't matter any more than the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus. They sure as Hell don't give a crap as to who's sticking what into your naughty bits.

Well you are obviously not educated in the historical evidence and relevance of the Bible. It doesn't matter that it was written a long time ago. It is just as relevant now as it was then.

The thing that bugs me about that whole setup is if this god of yours is omnicient and such, it already knew every outcome and therefore would be arbitrarily assigning guilt to someone it already knew in advance, way in advance what the score was to be so it seems to me just another indication of the entire field of religion, especially organized religions to have in fact only been made up by men, and mainly males to control other men and subjugate women. That seems to me to be the bottom line here and in fact there is no sin since all this BS came from men who had one too many magic mushrooms.

So, do you think that women should not braid their hair or wear gold?

Do you think that men should never have long hair or a woman short hair?

God does not judge anyone. As long as he repents God hears.

These things were written so as to not promote promiscuity.

You're right about that, but you're forgetting one very important thing. You have to believe that Jesus Christ is your savior and he died for your sins and then repent and then you won't be judged. Otherwise you will be.

Can you quote the part of the Bible that says you wont be judged?

Here are 2 passages that say everyone will be judged :

Romans 2:12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;

Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

Paul did not say that a woman should not braid her hair or wear gold. He said that her beauty should be an inner one, her chaste living, etc. and that the outer stuff was not the standard for beauty. Again, a misinterpretation. In those days the sign of a prostitute was the cropped hair. So that no longer applies. Beards and long hair were the style for men, unless you were a Roman. But, men were not to let their hair become as long as a woman's in Paul's day. Some of his letters to the churches addressed specifics for that day only, but not the basic things of doctrine.....loving others, etc.

I Tim 2:9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

Yes, it does say that...so I stand corrected. I think the key here is that one is not to be flamboyant or indecent in their dress. Churches differ on what is appropriate and what isn't. Head coverings are required in a few. Makeup is frowned on in others. Slacks versus skirts....etc, etc.

For every guideline there is an underlying principle and often there are suggestions for implementation. You seem to understand the underlying principle of modesty. Paul is saying that gold, broided hair, pearls, costly array are not modest. Are you disagreeing with Paul?

My pearls are not real so does that make a difference? Or are you suggesting that my gold wedding ring is not modest? I think that Paul himeself....if living today....would say, "Good grief", stop straining at gnats and swallowing camels!" But, let us not quarrel on these fine points. I am a Christian and so are you. Peace.
