@pb1022 saidI am not embarrassed about that harrowing chapter in my life. Like I said, you are mischaracterizing my reaction to my wife'sbrush with death. And, once again, to repeatedly put “standing strong" in quotes is deceitful.
Why you’re suddenly embarrassed about “standing strong” in your atheism is beyond me and for you to explain - not me.
@fmf saidWell I disagree, and I think this conversation is not appropriate in this thread. It is off-topic and derailing the purpose of this thread.

Meanwhile Paul wrote "in Christ" some 82 times.
Can this athiest tell us why Paul would 82 times refer to being in Christ?
It was because he was standing firm in this new reality.
I Like Peter saying to be in Christ was to enter into this grace.
" . . . I hav ewritten to you briefly, exhorting and testifying fully that this is the true grace of God;
enter into this grace and stand in it." (1 Peter 5:12)
@pb1022 saidSure. I expect I'm not as 'special' as you. 😵
Only ‘cause you’ve never experienced Him.
@avalanchethecat
avalanch, WHY do you think the writers if the New Testament spoke of being "in Him" over 160 times?
One hundred and sixty four trimes one scholar counts - "in Him [Jesus Christ]"
You see men and women can enter into the sphere and the realm of the living Son of God and be "in HIm" .
@avalanchethecat saidHas nothing to do with being “special.”
Sure. I expect I'm not as 'special' as you. 😵
Has to with accepting and believing in Jesus Christ and believing in His Resurrection.
I have and you haven’t.
@fmf saidWell you compared yourself to an atheist in a foxhole and said you had proven the expression “There are no atheists in foxholes” was wrong.
The thread was about how my loss of belief in Jesus meant that I didn't, indeed, couldn't, pray to him. Why do you keep putting “standing strong" in quotes?
Why are you trying to rewrite history?
Forget about personal insults and trolling.
You all need to think about this.
We can be put INTO CHrist.
Look FIRST . . . FIRST we need to have Christ made our wisdom - the righteousness, sanctification and redemption IN Christ.
As to our past - He has justified us to puty us on a righteous standing before God.
As to the present, we can be under the process of sanctification.
As to the future, out bodies can be transfigured - the redemption of our bodies.
So "But of HIm you are in Christ Jesus, who became wisdom to us from God: both righteousness and sanctification and redemption,"
The our confidence and boast is absolutely not in ourselves.
Our boast is the One in whom God has put us.
"That as it is written, He who boasts, let him boast in the Lord." (1 Cor. 1:30,31)
Only God can put a man in Christ Jesus.
We can ask God to do so.
God is eager to put us in Christ Jesus.
@sonship saidI think a lot of people wrote a lot of stories which were quite similar, and some time later some people who had a great deal to gain by controlling what a lot of other people thought collected the ones they approved of and tried very hard to eradicate the ones they didn't like. You worship scripture, and I think that's crazy.
