@divegeester saidSo much for the perhaps unbiblical idea that we have "free will".
when it is explicit in various places that God uses people to exact vengeance.
Also, why even make reference to The Bible when your whole forum posture seems to indicate that you would consider that to be not just the logical fallacy of "appealing to authority" but one of "appealing to imaginary authority"?
If your primary concern is the possible continuation of your very special ego after death, please have a look at Raymond Moody's books, and going even farther back, the works of Frederic W. H. Myers and other members of the Society for Psychical Research.

@Kevin-Eleven
Is that ectoplasm I detect oozing out of your post there ?

@kevin-eleven saidI disagree.
For years you have been a blight upon the Spirituality Forum.

@kellyjay saidI don’t think I’ve ever read such a pile of convoluted hypocritical self-sanctification and self-justification for your support of capital punishment in my life.
We are called to forgive, and when we do that, does someone who murdered
not have to pay the price for their crimes? How about rape? Should the one
raped forgive and the rapist not pay the penalty for their crimes? Vengeance
of the Lord and punishment for the guilty were given in the law; do you see
any place in all scripture where that was changed? Grace is given for j ...[text shortened]... eyes, and the lawlessness that brings
has no justice, only vengeance for wrongs, real and imagined.

@divegeester saidHow did you put it?
I don’t think I’ve ever read such a pile of convoluted hypocritical self-sanctification and self-justification for your support of capital punishment in my life.
"Maybe just answer points, comments and questions which are put to you with a degree of honesty and forthrightness rather than all this equivocation and obfuscation you frequently come out with?"
@divegeester saidSo instead of blowing off all that was said put your money where your mouth is and address the points made.
That’s right.
@kevin-eleven saidI disagree that the idea that we have free will is "unbiblical". That we have free will is a cornerstone of the Bible.

@divegeester saidBeing forgiven by God puts us in good standing with God; however, that does not
Do you then, still have to “pay for your crimes”?
at all absolve us of any crimes we have done here. Punishment is required
for crimes. We don't get to murder someone and not pay for that crime. Do you
think that is not the case? Should we be allowed to go on with our lives having
done all manner of evil and not be held accountable for them in this life? When
we commit crimes against one another here, even if they forgive us, all of the
results of those crimes are still being played out, killing someone, they are still
dead, the greater the sin against the other, the more damage done. Ultimately
all crimes are against God, every time we do anything wrong in His Kingdom,
we could never settle that debt to Him, so He did it for us.
Is this why you are always calling people names and belittling them because
you think you can, and nothing about what you do matters, here or in the
next life?
