I believe in a young universe, I believe God is doing a work and billions of
years are not required, but could be. I accept that God can do anything
that can be done, as such He can create a universe by speaking it into
reality and we can look at it and draw many assumptions, some good as
they reflect reality and others not so much. Faith NOT fact is all any of us
have with respect to the age of the universe. We can draw upon many
assumptions to give us what we think are valid answers, but if our
assumptions are based upon things NOT true than 10% of a full blown
error will not get you any closer to the truth.

you believe in a young universe because the people translating and deciding what is in the bible tell you to. not god

meanwhile countless evidence point to an old earth.

so you see, you are not placing your trust in god. you are placing your trust in men. ignorant men. men who thought bathing regularly kills people. men who belonged to a denomination (catholicism) you don't, a denomination that has renounced those ignorant claims.

don't behave like what you make an informed, rational decision to believe in a young earth. it is a decision made from fear, because you are scared shtless that god will condemn you to an eternal torment if you choose to disregard something from the bible. meanwhile, you already disregard lots of stuff from the bible. so at what point do you actually involve a shred of logic and common sense into your beliefs?

God talked directly to Moses, who is given credit for writing down the Genesis account of creation. The creation of man can be calculated to be a little over 6000 years ago; and since that happened 5 days after the creation of the universe, then that makes the universe relative young compared to what the atheists and evilutionists want people to believe.

Actually there is no evidence pointing to an old earth. The atheists and evilutionists make several assumptions so that their interpretation seems to indicate an old earth. However, this has all been debunked by creation scientists that show much evidence for a young earth.

All of whom are guided by an agenda to prove the veracity of the creation tale. You actually think that is science.

That is not science. That is politics. Pure and simple. Anything to aid the fairy tale of creation.

And about Mo, he says "God spoke to me''. Trust me, he did, I had just eaten this GREAT mushroom and there he was telling all this stuff and I had just lost my favorite papyrus and so had to chisel this stuff on these slate stones I found. Trust me, god himself told me.

and even if that really happened, it can be explained by god telling a made up story to an uncivilized savage who couldn't grasp counting 100, let alone the math and physics required to understand the truth.

jesus needed to teach love and compassion, not physics and math.

Creation scientist would not have to debunk bad science, if there were not bad scientists trying to debunk the Holy Bible by using physics and math plus bad science.

You keep repeating over and over again, ad nauseum, your claim that evolution is propagated by "bad scientists", knowingly and maliciously propagating untruths towards their own nefarious ends.

Even when you are shown (as I did in this thread) that there are highly reputable scientists who happen to be also highly reputable Christians, who support evolution.

The point is, you do not conduct a discussion, you are just a stuck record.

And Jesus never spoke of it either, Must mean it is not that important.

You see? You're doing it again!

You are imputing malicious intent to reputable scientists and Christians!

If you were to say this about Francis Collins in a public paper, you would be sued for slander.

If somebody were to accuse you of secret malicious motives, you would be up in arms!

Not only a stuck record, but a poisonous one!

even jews, who have the old testament as the main book, understand it shouldn't be taken literally.

in fact, most christians don't take the old testament seriously. only religious cults such as jehova's witnesses or rjhind's merry band of ignoramuses believe it is crucial for christians to believe in a young earth.
