The Bible orders this, the Quran orders that, the Christian does this and the Muslim does that and finally they both end up down the drain all the way to hell taking with them the whole spinning planet -this is the bitter ole story. How pathetic to live a life following mindless step by step somebody elses mind, somebody elses will, and calling this attitude "faith". I prefer to use my logic in a democracy instead of memorising aka holly sentences I cannot understand, I prefer to live and let live instead of fooling around with Christianism or any other religion.
Everybody's excuse is "Lord", even Hitler said that:“Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator. By defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord.” And is well known which way he "defended" hiself aginst them.
I count myself lucky that I live in a democratic country, in which I can express my opinion in full. How funny it would be to state such an opinion in a Muslim country๐ for how many days could I remain in one piece?
Unfortuntely Muslims are living in the past allright. Just remember all these poor girls and women who died after being hit by stones, after ridiculus trials by Muslims.

You also assumed that Islam didn't guid its follower on how to extract the teaching of their religion, which is also not correct. So if the premise is not correct, what is conluded from it will be incorrect.
I presented a very simple analogy about parents expecting kids to grow up well when they dont set a good example.
The same thing happens in Islam. The koran and hadiths and leaders all pronouce particularly serious penalties for petty wrong-doing. Society and customs among muslims will therefore follow similar lines.
Whats not fair ?
So to be fair you have to view the whole picture and make your premises.

So there are many things in the Bible, and the Christians don't believe, and there are many things Christians believe, and are not in the Bible.
You refer to the OT as if that is what has influenced Christianity.
Are you saying that Christians believe that adulterers and apostates deserve the death penalty?
On the other hand the GOD who inspired the OT is the same GOD ot the NT, so what ever in the OT is coming from the same source.
You said that this thread is not about Chrsitianity and the Bible, so I will not talk about that. If you want we can discuss it in another thread.

Do they live in the present by holding on to archaic customs and practices that are detrimental to their future? ... much like muslims?
Or have they been able to shake off unproductive and primitive habits that are not longer applicable... much like Christians.
So you should not really put Christians and Muslims on equal footing.

Or what you are saying is what in the Bible is not from the Christian GOD and people who wrote the Bible added to it whatever they want and matches their desires, so there is no problem to ignore it.
Or you are saying there is no GOD, and we should leave those religions because they are not applicable, and Christians are good because they are doing that.
Where exactly is your position?

The OT is essentially a history of the Jewish people and have very little relevance to us today.
Why do you insist on confusing whats in the OT and what Christ taught?
Christ never taught that adultereers should be stoned. Did he?

That, dear old doom, was when the Islamic Culture closed itself off from outside knowledge and began slowly to die. Now it is quite dead and its decomposing corpse stinks up the globe.
What a pity -- but it is what it is.

Anyway if the poor fools cant drink, womanise, socialise, party.. they might as well invent something... or claim to have invented something that someone else developed.
So whatever you say ... muslims are smart ... christians are fools.
