As another poster has pointed out, there were many claimants at that time; one more great pretender in a long line of them probably did not merit any special notice from contemporary Jewish chroniclers.

However, they were accounts written by Israelites. For example:

I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
