@divegeester saidI'm not protecting my precious personal doctrine anything, let along the eternal
Well your astonishing claim on page one that the passage I quoted in my OP from Revelation 19 was, in your words, “all literal, not metaphors” would be a prime example of you making your own interpretation, and of course of me challenging you on it as I claim it is all metaphors.
Of course we all know why you have taken this stance; it is so you can protect yo ...[text shortened]... t having to defend why you think that is literal and the other stuf isn’t. Gross dishonesty frankly.
suffering doctrine. I'm just accepting the Word as written, not attempting to alter it
to suit me just because I don't like what is written. As I have pointed out to you
and others here, truth isn't going to alter itself to suit me, if there are things about
scripture I don't like, I don't get to say, "well I don't like this, but I like that" so now
that which is written is subject to what I like. Reality doesn't bend to suit us, the
only thing that does that is our opinions, we have to adjust ourselves to suit it.
@kellyjay saidYes yes KellyJay we all know that you believe there is a man with a literal sword coming out of his mouth with which he will literally striking down the nations (by swinging his head from side to side no doubt!), also a literal wine-press with literal fury coming out of it.

And YES because you sit there in the safety of your chair and claim all that is literal... you can also claim that there is a literal lake of burning sulfur which billions of people will be cast into an burn for eternity.
Can you think how I view and other view your ridiculously dishonest position on all this? do you even care how sad you appear?
@divegeester saidActually the conversation where it was said, “Did God actually say...” Comes to mind seeing the hoops people jump through so they can ignore what is written clearly means. They instead seek out teachers that will tell them what they want to hear.

@proper-knob saidWhich one you referring to, I cannot think of any I would say wasn’t literal?
@KellyJay
God's trumpet Kelly, is that literal or metaphorical?
@KellyJay
There are numerous verses relating to Gods trumpet. This being one of them -
1 Thessalonians 4:16 New International Version (NIV)
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.

@proper-knob saidYou are talking about God who created everything and holds it all together by the power of His Word. So I would say where ever He wants.
Where does a spirit keep a trumpet?

@proper-knob saidAccording to scripture this natural world comes from the spiritual, God. If you are looking for a weakness in Him there will not be any. He designed our lungs I am sure whatever is required to accomplish His will, will be done.
How does a spirit blow down a trumpet? Surely one would need a pair of lungs?
@kellyjay saidYou will never intrigue an atheist with these ridiculous literalisms which tie you to a sadistic genocidal monstrous version of God.

Remember this:
Jeremiah 29:11 New International Version (NIV)
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
This is a scripture for every person on the planet, and those “plans” are not to personally burn you in hell for eternity.

@divegeester saidSo who draws us to God, does He do it, or is it by our arguments?

@kellyjay saidI don’t see the point of your obviously leading question.
So who draws us to God, does He do it, or is it by our arguments?
