@suzianne saidsonship says he already "knows" he's going to "heaven" [so to speak]. That's a huge ideological difference between you and him.
I don't know, meaning I don't know. Some claim to know, but they don't. Not judging from their actions, anyways. We have His promises, but sometimes the message gets twisted in our minds from God's will to our will.
Indeed, you say [above]: "Some claim to know, but they don't."
If you don't like other people's threads when they are about the doctrine of eternal torture, why not start a thread ~ it would be the very first one you started since last year ~ on why it is that you "don't know" if you are going to "heaven", whereas a fellow Christian like sonship claims that he already "does know" that he is going to "heaven"?
@fmf saidYou're asking me to place myself above other Christians here.

God didn't sacrifice his only begotten Son so that I could lord it over others, or claim to be "better than" them. People who do so are rather unclear on the concept. The world already has too many of these Pharisees.
If your ridicule of him is important to you, then by all means, carry on. But do not expect me to join you.
@suzianne saidNo. you're mistaken. I am asking you to contribute to a debate and discussion message board rather than just being a disinhibited lightweight who seems to think scorn is substance.
You're asking me to place myself above other Christians here.
Why it is that you "don't know" if you are going to "heaven", whereas a fellow Christian here claims that he already "does know" that he is going to "heaven"? Why not address it; it's what a debate and discussion forum is for.
@suzianne saidYou say this, but you have spent an inordinate amount of time on this forum claiming to be a better Christian than conservative and Republican-voting Christians.

No, I am not. Indeed, you do this yourself incessantly.
@suzianne saidTo characterize the debates between me and sonship as us "ridiculing" each other is a mistake on your part. You probably don't read what the two of us write. You are mischaracterizing the nature of our discussions.

@hakima saidI'm kind of thinking this is why we have finite lives.
If there is a god, I have faith that they’ll wait until I catch up…
It’s All Love or nothing at all.
Sort of an ultimate "Decide by..." date. Of course, we don't know when that is, but I suppose that's partially the point.
I like your participation in the thread started by rookie. I often think that it's less about how we come to God (or Truth, or Enlightenment, or whatever that means to you, generic you) and more about that we do eventually come to him. That we get involved, that we make the effort to connect to someone or something beyond ourselves, and in the process, to treat our fellow sojourners at least as important as ourselves. Love is the Way.
If you haven't at least guessed by now, FMF, your never-changing rhetoric to me is exactly why I haven't started a thread here (at least here in Spirituality, you've obviously missed threads I've started in other forums). It's just not worth the never-ending aggravation you bring to nearly everything I write here.
No doubt others who think about writing to this forum have had similar thoughts. Now if only you had kept your aggression to this forum instead of spreading it to the masses at large in the General Forum. But I guess if you're thwarted from getting your twisted satisfaction here (if you can't bring the mountain to you), then you'll go where there are more targets (you'll go to the mountain).
So congratulations, you got me to dance to your tune, for a moment. But I'm not going to be tilting at windmills forever. The good news is, every time I ignore you, it gets easier.
@suzianne saidIf you start a thread, I will be happy to contribute as long as it is a topic that's relevant or interesting to me.

@suzianne saidThis sounds very paranoid. It's also an inaccurate characterization of my posting, both here and on the General Forum.

@suzianne saidI'd estimate that 4 out of 5 of your posts on the Spirituality Forum have been addressed at me over the last 10 years. That's 75% plus or minus 5%. You have been repeatedly saying you are going to ignore me for those same 10 years. You should start threads and get discussions that are to your liking underway.
