I could raise the same argument as FMF; that my posting style in the forums is not indicative of my ability to even handedly moderate. I cannot subscribe to FMF's call to disappear from the forums for a year though, so that is something to consider should I launch a formal bid.

yes i got that reply when i applied to be a mod when i first joined the site. It was not to mod the forums but to mod the games and check for engine users that I applied.

I think the likes of robbie carrobie and Suzianne or Duchess64 have got to Ghost of a Duke and now even he thinks I can't be trusted to respond to alerted posts during the hours I offered to be in front of my PC, if needed. So I think I am beaten.

There's not much else to it is there:

- Poster alerts post
- Moderator reviews post and makes assessment of the complaint
- exercises judgment
- removes or leaves post

I mean, really, how hard can it be.

I don't want to Mod chess games. I don't like chess and I have hardly a clue how to play properly.

I do, I like chess and want to out engine users. Why I got turned down I have no idea, its a very time consuming exercise to gather evidence and data and take weeks to compile.
