The post that was quoted here has been removedEight years of wholehearted commitment to this site, 40,000+ posts, almost 3,000 days of almost daily posting, involved in all manner of debates, sometimes heated discussions, across almost all the available forums, and yet not a single forum ban, never, not even once. Not a month, not a week, not a few days, not even a day. No bans. I've never done anything which - in the eyes of the web site - deserved a forum ban. Not even a short ban. No bans. Not ever. Not even a threat of a forum ban. Not even a warning. I think it's an impressive record. 40,000+ posts delivered from the trenches in some forthright and passionate discussions and yet not one single one of those posts overstepped the line according to the web site and therefore I have never received a forum ban. And I've been here for what is fast approaching a decade. Impressive, I think.

The post that was quoted here has been removedIf there are any of my posts you think that ought to have been deleted by moderators and that should have earned me a forum ban ~ but did not do so because of "RHP's well-known weakness (at least in recent years) in disciplining members for abuse* ~ then why don't you just point some of them out?
The post that was quoted here has been removedI spent some time as John W Booth before retiring the name, and a short time as Nick Bourbaki (created for my son - so we could play Blitz - and used by me as a practical joke for a short time).
I've never posted on the forums simultaneously with more than one account, and I've never used multiple accounts to cheat at chess.
My interactions with the web site owners over these matters were amicable and open ~ I was simply asked if I'd prefer to retire FMF for good, or to bring FMF out of retirement; I chose the latter.
And they did not see fit to sanction me in any way. I did not receive any forum ban. There was quite simply no vitriol or rancour of the kind that seems to animate you. The issue ONLY lives on in just about every post you address to me. Meanwhile I have never received a forum ban for any of my many thousands of posts.
My behaviour as a poster here cannot be said to rule me out of being a moderator, indeed, my good relations with the web site and my clear commitment to its success ~ along with my communication skills, emotional intelligence, and long experience of navigating the volatile Forum waters with aplomb, tenacity and understated wry humour ~ all stand me in good stead.

The post that was quoted here has been removedIt's certainly your prerogative to raise this objection and to post in this style you use. By contrast, I think I have a valuable contribution to make and I believe my long standing never-forum-banned record commends me for the role. I welcome your perspective.

The post that was quoted here has been removedIf you feel my continuing to post as FMF is against RHP's Terms of Service, I suggest you alert my posts every time. If the web site does not respond by banning me, as you suggest they do, then that will surely lay this issue to rest once and for all.

Certainly not on THIS website.
On THIS website, you, FMF, have 454 pages of public forum posts, which, at 15 posts per page, comes out to a little over 6800 posts.
If you have 40,000+ posts on THIS website, then you have made 33,200+ posts in private forums, which are not subject to moderation, or you have more than one account, which is clearly against the ToS. Do you care to clarify which of these it is??
Also, at 3,000 days of posting, these 40,000 posts would have you posting 13+ posts per day, every day, for 8.2 years. Do you still claim to have posted 40,000+ posts here?
And as far as lasting 8.2 years here with no bans, I've been here since 2003, that's 12 years with no bans. So it's not so hard to pass time here with absolutely 0 bans.
