As I say, the premise is flawed. There is no accounting of the mass plant and insect extinction that would have happened were the entire earth to be covered in water for 40 days. It simply did not happen.

I don't see what the fuss is all about. The accepted model is that we as a species left Africa 200,000yrs ago in a relatively small numbers, maybe 200 or so, and then spread out to populate the world.
The article certainly doesn't suggest anywhere that we all can be traced back 5,000yrs ago, which is what you believe.
