@sonship saidWhen it comes to the world and the people living in it, did your utterly impotent misanthropy and pessimism draw you to your cultish brand of the Jesus personality cult, or did being drawn into your brand of the Jesus personality cult turn you into an impotent, defeatist, pessimistic misanthrope?
That's OK with the atheist because it might provide some do's and don'ts to help him put a few bandaids on the world rotting around his ears. Jesus said of His disciples that they are "the salt of the earth". This is not in this age a total cure for the degrading world system. This is just some arresting of the process of total rottenness by the presence of some preservative salt.
@rajk999 saidYou see this as 'rescuing' sonship?
How come you were so quick to jump to sonships rescue and quote what Google had to say about the meaning of 'minut'?
Who are you trying to impress? I'd think awhile on that, if I were you.
@divegeester saidYou might say that.
You really have a flame up your ass this week don’t you.

The post that was quoted here has been removedWhen Suzianne uses the word "pharisaical", it just means she disagrees with the beliefs of the person she aims it at or feels personal animosity for that person, but it is also a signal that she is unable and/or unwilling to discuss the issue. In other words, it's ever-slightly self-sanctified smackdown banter.
@fmf saidIncorrect, and in a most blatant way. This is what I mean when I say you do not understand me, will probably never understand me, but then I realize you do have an agenda against me which is centered upon bearing false witness of me.

This is what I mean when I use the word "pharisaical": like the Pharisees in the time of Jesus. Regard this:
And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
"Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted." -- Luke 18:9-14, KJV
Certain Christians seek to exalt themselves, thinking they are exalting God, who "trust in themselves that they are righteous, and despise others". But in fact, Jesus will say to these pretenders, these Pharisees, I never knew you.

@suzianne saidAre the Christian beliefs that abortion is a "sin" and that homosexual sex is a "sin" what you would label as "pharisaical"?

If they do believe abortion and homosexual sex are both "sinful" because of their understanding of the Bible, how is it you think they are "exalting themselves"?

@fmf saidGood questions. Its going to boil back down to her referring to those who disagree with her hypocritical doctrine, as Pharisaical.
Are the Christian beliefs that abortion is a "sin" and that homosexual sex is a "sin" what you would label as "pharisaical"?

You claimed that believing abortion and homosexual sex are "sins" is "pharisaical". Luke 18:9-14 does not demonstrate whether [1] they are or aren't "sins", nor do the verses demonstrate how [2] believing that they are "sins" is "pharisaical".
@fmf saidDo you think the meaning of Luke 18:11 would be any different had the Pharisee said, "God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, terminating pregnancies, or laying with another man, or even as this publican"?
Are the Christian beliefs that abortion is a "sin" and that homosexual sex is a "sin" what you would label as "pharisaical"?

His belief that these things, extortion, adultery, 'being unjust', are evil did not save him. Neither will believing that homosexuality and abortion are evil save these modern-day Pharisees.
@fmf saidIrrelevant.
