@dj2becker saidThen it seems that your premise is a bit of a dud.
Well if you did get it you would have realized the title of the thread is just of few of the words of the quote shared in the OP and it’s not like it’s aimed for/at someone specific.
@divegeester saidYes that doesn’t stop someone from looking for proof or discussing hypothetical proof now does it?
But you said no one was required to provide “proof”, no should feel like they have to provide “proof”.
@divegeester saidYou are entitled to your opinions.
Then it seems that your premise is a bit of a dud.
@dj2becker saidWhy would anyone want to look for and discuss “hypothetical proof”?
Yes that doesn’t stop someone from looking for proof or discussing hypothetical proof now does it?
@divegeester saidHypothetically for any reason they decide to. Do you believe it’s possible to love God and not love your neighbor?
Why would anyone want to look for and discuss “hypothetical proof”?

@dj2becker saidThis more of a mirror post, check yourself out, are there people you don't love. Then if so and you find you hate them, beware?
I agree with the following quote and would like to have your views on the matter:
“If we are to accept the teaching of Jesus at all, then the only test of the reality of a man's religion is his attitude to his fellow men. The only possible proof that a man loves God is the demonstrated fact that he loves his fellow men.” -- William Barclay
An addition it could be said that anyone who claims to love God yet hates his brother is a liar.

Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test!
@kellyjay said"Test yourselves."
2 Corinthians 13:5

In addition to believing in Jesus, is passing this "test" required for "salvation"?
@dj2becker saidDo you love all your fellow men?
Don’t be silly FMF. God decides who passes the test. That doesn’t stop people from testing and examining themselves daily. A bit of soul searching hasn’t harmed anyone.
@dj2becker saidNot all of them, not by a long way. In fact very few.
Yes don’t you?
Of course if you claim to be supernaturally empowered to love all your fellow men then good for you.
@dj2becker saidWhat are you on about, I’m referring precisely to the quote in your own OP.
What’s with the 20 questions?
