A Christian will sin after conversion, but there will also be a change in his life.
Can a true Christian shoplift?
Can a true Christian commit adultery?
Can a true Christian beat his wife?
Can a true Christian take the Lord's name in vain?
Originally posted by DoctorScribblesI never said a Christian could not sin. But they should not continue sinning the same was after conversion. The key word is "serial." A truly converted sinner will try to get out of a life of chronic sin. If there is no change to the better - then they should question their conversion.

A life of a converted Christian is one of a process called "sanctification" - whereby a Christian over time will overcome sin. They will become more self-consciences of their sins, become better at avoiding sin, lean to be more loving to their neighbor, generous, patiences, etc. A Christian should see these improvements - not the same old sins repeated in a "serial" fashion.

Can I infer that there are no sins that you commit habitually?
Can I infer that you're not a serial liar?
Can I infer that you're not a serial swearer?
Can I infer that you don't serially act on impure thoughts, for example by staring at attractive women?
Originally posted by DoctorScribblesThis isn't about me personally. But I will say I do not make a habit out of sinning.

And although I have strung some swear words together, I don't think that makes me a serial swearer. I think I've seen some improvements - nothing I'd brag about.

That would not be true.
Every weak atheist is a counterexample, unless you are willing to state that God has refused to bless weak atheists with the gift of reason.

Can a True Christian sin?
Are you a True Christian?
Have you sinned since becoming one?
Do you have any habitual sins?
That is why we need to deny ourselves and follow Christ daily.
And the verse of 1 John 1:9 is written to Christians.
