Ripture, rapture, rupture. Whatever. Dear Jaywill, If the rapture comes to you, to whom will you leave your belongings? (This is a hypothetical question). All kidding aside, I wish you the best in 2010. Joe, your theological arch nemisis.

===================================
Joe this is not a trivial matter to me. You mockingly say "Ripture, rapture, rupture, Whatever ..."
This is a matter of sacred truth to me. If this rapture should occur in my lifetime, I don't want to consider for a nanosecond what is to become of my posessions.
In this moment when Jesus suddenly comes to rapture me I am told by Jesus "Remember Lot's wife". When Lot's family was led out of Sodom they were told not to turn around and look. Lot's wife turned around to look back at Sodom and she became a pillar of salt (Genesis 19:22-26).
The lesson should be clear. Her body may have been removed from Sodom, but her heart was still there. Jesus does not simply want to transport my body off this judged earth but my heart is to be on Him, His kingdom, and not longingly looking back at the world.
In that instant when Jesus comes, I do not want to consider any of my posessions for a split second. I want my heart to say "Lord Jesus, I am ready to go."
I trust Him for everything else as a consequence of my being raptured. May the Lord have mercy on all those who wish to be taken up by Him in rapture.
Having said that, I would only mention that as a Christian while I am here, it is my godly responsibilty to provide for my family. But in that instance when He comes ... I want to drop everything and say "Lord Jesus, I'm ready to go."
There is a story about the eagle and the cat. The eagle was telling the cat how wonderful it was to soar in the sky. The sky was really the place to be.
The cat asked "Are there any mice up there in the sky?" The eagle said there were not. The cat decided that it must not be that good of a place.
Jesus is coming to rapture some believers to the third heaven for a season. But He will not take you where you do not wish to go. If you figure that there are not the things you want up there in Heaven He may leave you here where you are happy with the things of this world.
Rapture is a matter of Jesus taking His people physically where their heart has been all along.
"If therefore you were raised together with Christ, seek the things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.
Set your mind on the things which are above, not on the things which are on the earth.
For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
When Christ our life is manifested then you also will be manifested with Him in glory.
Put to death therefore your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleaness, passion, evil desire, and greediness, which is idolatry;
Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience; In which you also once walked, when you lived in these things.
But now, you also, put away all these things: wrath, anger, malice, blasphemy, foul abusive language out of your mouth.
... put on the new man, which is being renewed unto full knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,
Where there cannot be Greek and Jew, circumcision, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free man, but Christ is all and in all." (See Col. 3:1-11)

Aren't we all "born of God"? Or not? Could you clarify?(anyone)
========================================
I will help you to find out on your own.
Do you have a New Testament ?
Look up First John chapter 5 verse 1.
Who there are the ones John says have been begotten of God?
...[text shortened]... it? Is the scope universal or are there some paramaters around who receives these matters?"[/b]
I'll pull out my bible later and get back to you if it seems worthwhile🙂

Hi, I am jaywill
Remember that another poster spoke up to address these questions. The original poster may have another response.
Have you ever asked the Lord Jesus to be your Savior ?
Have you ever confessed to God that you are a sinner in need of Christ's salvation?
If not, you should have a good talk with God and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, thanking Him for His death and resurrection.
You have to start with being regenerated, being born anew by receiving Jesus Christ as your Lord.
I'll continue when I see how you are able to respond to these statements.

Since you haven't actually answered the question of how you know the rapture is coming, and instead replied with a series of unrelated questions, I'll wait and see if the whole thing happens and how much fun it is when it does.
