Others have already dealt with so many controlling people that overt encouragement of positivity might be suspect in their view.
Well, certainly in a work environment, positivity and optimism are contagious and motivating, if genuine in their deliverance. Positivity doesn't mean being blind to negative events, but fosters hope and a way forward.
