I agree. Without revelation from the Spirit of God upon our conscience, we're in the dark.
And that regardless of philosophy of life or politics.

This is nonsense. They can't all be in the light.

If they all have the "Spirit of God" informing them, then how do you explain such a wide divergence of views?

In particular how do you explain how far conservatives diverge from the teachings of Jesus?

Is it fair to get from your reply -

Conservatives take the Bible at face value,

your main interest is to conserve a face value interpretation of the Bible's words ?
Is that the main reason for your conservatism ?

Understanding the Bible at face value is ...[text shortened]... att. 6:24) [/b] [/quote]

Still interested in "face value" understanding of the Bible. Right ?[/b]
I will qualify a liberal's view vs conservative.

Liberals believe that a face value interpretation of the Bible is often incorrect.

In other words, the spirit within them lead them to believe the Bible means something other than what the Bible appears to say.

Since liberal beliefs do not align with the apparent Gospel, the spirit in a liberal is of Satan not God.

From Galatians

I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you [c]by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel; 7 which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel [d]contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be [e]accursed! 9 As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel [f]contrary to what you received, he is to be [g]accursed!

Conservatives take the Bible at face value, therefore believing that homosexual sex under any condition is sinful.
Who is worse:
The murderer or the homosexual?
The homosexual or the thief?
The thief or the drunkard?
The drunkard or the scoffer?
The scoffer or the proud?
The proud or the lazy?
The lazy or the glutton?
The glutton or the bulimic?
The bulimic or the self-harmer?
The self-harmer or the depressive?
The depressive or the chess player?

Anyone who chooses to live a lifestyle in rebellion to God is equally as bad as another and will recieve the appropriate reward.

What are you saying, that all sin is equal in the sight of God?
I don't think so.
While all sin is hated by God, some are more atrocious that others.
A quick glance at the Levitical laws show that both the murderer and the homosexual were stoned to death while the thief had to give restitution.

What will be a person's reward if one remains an unrepentant thief until death.

I tend to agree with Eladar.
The Left includes Democrats and Republicans, but mostly Dems.
The Right is the same but is mostly Conservative.
The Left is pro abortion, anti prayer in schools, and anti God for the most part.
The right wants the opposite.
Remember that the god of this world is the one controlling mostly everything, including the media, the news, etc., except where Christians invite God via prayer, to intervene.

No rewards, probably death if he has no holy spirit within.

If a an unrepentant sinner has the HS within,
the punishment is worse than if he did not know of Christ in the first place.
Worse than, not better than.
People like you need to let go of the church doctrine
and start believing the bible.

Do you mean death penalty for murder? Sure, I think murder should be punished by the death penalty, as should rape.

Slander? Same as the laws on the book.

Homosexuality? No punishment by the government. Yet homosexuality should not be pushed as something moral by the government. The government should stay out of moral issues and not push one side.

Hope that answers your question.
Thanks. That leads to a thread on what is murder but I won't be the one to start it. It also leaves open the other things mentioned in Romans 1.
