If by "both ways" you mean that I was "both" [1] a Christian during one part of my life and then [2] an ex-Christian during this more recent part of my life, then both these things are true and we can agree upon this.
Lord. So what was it you left, you left a false claim that you knew the Lord.
Again, had it been real that would be something else, had you admitted
what you had was false that too would be something else.

Nothing you can say about my beliefs in the past can characterize me as a "liar" when I was a Christian.

Persons can not lose their salvation once Jesus saves them. If a person claims he is saved, that is just an opinion. If a person claims he is unsaved, that is also just an opinion.
Claiming you are unsaved is just an opinion.
The FACT is that ONLY JESUS CHRIST knows who is saved or unsaved [which you implied]
What is the point then of making either claim in the first place?
Would it not be best to just shut up about it ?
In the case here of FMF he is just saying that he was a Christian. I cannot remember him saying anything about being saved or otherwise.

point blank yes or no questions!

When I was a Christian, these are things I used to believe, yes.
If you want to say you believed it now believe it to be not true, that would
be honest! If you want to say God did it, and I left that would be honest!
What you are doing now is trying to have it both ways.

Originally posted by KellyJayThe problem with that is there are many different meanings to the expression to know the Lord. Maybe you can define what you mean.
FMF doesn't go there, he has compared himself to everyone who claims
to be Christian, and when I pressed him on what that meant, he changed
his tune.

You do not have a clue what I believe, when I put it to you backed away! Yes or no, do you now feel that what you had was FALSE?

Originally posted by FMFNo, that is not what I'm getting at! I'm asking you a very simple question,
Well I am not a Christian any more if that's what you are getting at.
and you refuse to answer it! When you claimed you were a Christian, do
you now believe that you had was false? You seem more than fine
saying, you are not a Christian any more, so it should be a yes or no
answer.
