You have for your own convience avoided answering my question.
I did ask first.
If you answer I can give you about 12 + scriptures which show we should use the Name Jehovah (or it's equivalent) in petitioning the True God.
Jesus called his father 'God'. That is good enough for Jesus and for me as well.
And Paul as well :
But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. (1 Corinthians 8:6 KJV)

God has a personal name.
Jesus made it known to his disciples:
(John 17:26) I have made your name known to them and will make it known, so that the love with which you loved me may be in them and I in union with them.”
He is still making it known to his followers today.

I showed you a passage that spells out clearly who God listens to and you ignore it. I think I know why 😀

You don't understand. God listens to everyone. We are all His children, even the ones doing wrong.
He hopes they will be reconciled through His Son Christ Jesus.
Do you not believe the bible now?

So God did NOT make his name known to everyone.
Yet God expects everyone to use his name ?
Of course Jehovah listens to those who are righteous.
That does not preclude His listening to all prayers.
(Psalm 65:2) O Hearer of prayer, to you people of all sorts will come.
So, do you call everyone you know friend and never use their name?
Since the challenge Satan raised against God in the Garden of Eden, God's primary
objective has been to sanctify His Name and vidicate His Sovereignty.
He sent His Oldest Son, His first born, to stand up for His Name.
That's why Jesus said to pray "first" for His Father's Name to be Hallowed.
We hallow God's Name through our living a righteous Christian life and through using that Name in our prayers.
Suss it out.

Originally posted by roigamThis is an interesting post from you, thank you. Let's consider this scripture and what is actually happening here.
God is only a respectful title.
God has a personal name.
Jesus made it known to his disciples:
(John 17:26) I have made your name known to them and will make it known, so that the love with which you loved me may be in them and I in union with them.”
He is still making it known to his followers today.
The "name" by which God wanted man to "call on" him was being made known by Jesus. Well it couldn't have been the name "Jehovah" then could it? Because that name was already known by all Jews/Hebrews.
So, what was the name of God that was being "made known"?
God has many names but scripture says: "There is one name given among men by which we are saved" that name is Jesus.
Do you accept or reject this?

Do you realise that there is a vast difference in meaning :
- God hearing prayers,
- God listening to prayers,
- God's ears open to the prayers of the righteous
- God answering prayers,
- God watching over the righteous
God hears all prayers .. from all people good and evil
God watches over the righteous.
The constant desire to focus on the trivial and petty matters when the Bible speaks of weightier things.
Living righteously and following in the footsteps of Jesus .. this is what gets a man closer to God .. not calling a name that was not even mentioned by Christ.
