Mankind has always been in search of a utopia. Have you read Plato's "Republic"? In it he lists how his utopia would be created. A group of elite masterminds, who have been groomed since birth, assume the role of overseeing society. They decide such things as what type of job you have, how many possessions you have, and who you should marry etc. They basically plan everyones life from birth to death. In the end those that are told what to do happily do so as to show gratitude for being fed and clothed.

It took us all these years before his utopia could be realized but it finally was realized under Obama......except for the marriage bit. 😛😵

how would we begin, we could vote on each issue, but as there are more of certain faith groups on here, would it be fair if everybody had one vote. should we give groups with less representation more ...[text shortened]... ority may splinter off, this may lead to separate, warring nations/groups further down the line.
Pure democracy is not a good thing as it harms minorities. Most countries recognise this which is why we have constitutions. A constitution protects the basic rights of everyone against the majority vote. It also lays down some guidelines and goals.
Any issue that affects a minority disproportionately should not be put to a vote.
For example, issues such as immigration, gay marriage, segregation, etc should never be put to a vote.

No, it's NOT listening to God and going against His will that doesn't work very well.

Go back to Jerusalem in 586 BC and ask the Jews how not listening to God was working out for them.

How about giving us examples of those that did listen and benefited as a result.
Also, does one automatically assume that anyone not doing well is not listening? Or is there an independent test for listening that we can use to verify whether or not it is really effective?
