@sonship saidI don't think so, no.
Could this apathetic "not caring" of yours be taken by some as stubborn dogmatism quite close minded to reasonable counter arguments?
If someone was tackling me with the concept of speciesism and was talking about mammals and primates and so on, then what they have to say would most likely be interesting.
But not about cockroaches, no.
@fmf saidI do speak for myself and when you suggest I am saying something I am not your speaking as if you are speaking for me. If anyone wants to know what I think they ask me about it, they don’t go running to you!
If the end makes everything the same what would it matter if at some point you prefer one thing over the other?
How is "everything the same"?
Please. What on earth are you talking about? Seriously.
If the only place that matters is the moment we are in then the past and future are meaningless.
Speak for yourself, KellyJay. Maybe your religiosity has damaged yo ...[text shortened]... ieve that a life lived without your Christian beliefs renders "the past and future are meaningless".
I have told you a number of times now my meaning behind my words and you are still attempting to make my intent what you want it to be. It is getting old!
@kellyjay saidWhat you are saying now is at odds with what you actually said, as my several verbatim quotes show.

I believe you are in damage-limitation mode, because your assertions about the "meaningless" lives of people who don't believe in an afterlife - nay, "meaningless" BECAUSE they don't believe in an afterlife - appears to be corner you do not wish to fight at this time.
Having said that, you have been riffing on such "meaningless" for years - and you've even brought up "cockroaches" to make your point numerous times.
@fmf saidYes you gleaned what I mean and start speaking to it even after I tell you that you interpreted it wrong. When I correct you, you correct me. If you simply said that this is what I think you mean that would be one thing, but you don’t, you start other threads declaring your opinion as if your interpretation of what I said and meant is more accurate than what I say!
I think you are speaking for yourself when you type stuff here. I glean what you mean from what you post. I don't need to "speak for" you.
@fmf saidYou are not looking at what I said instead you are trying to make what you think I meant fit into your interpretation which it will not because you don’t have a clue what and why I was saying what I did. You only have what you think I was saying and they don’t agree.
What you are saying now is at odds with what you actually said, as my several verbatim quotes show.

I wouldn't want to be a cockroach. Looking through the prism human consciousness gives us, I'd be surprised to find any human would rather be a cockroach.
But you don't know if looking through the prism a cockroach consciousness might offer more desireable aspects.
Are you saying you would rather be a human because that is all you've ever known and the only prism through which you have looked?
And I predicted your reply because I have found you predictable at times.
What am I doing that you do not do?
@fmf saidYou can go back years and look at what I posted, and I doubt your understanding of them will improve as you attempt to make my words fit your preconceived ideas so your prejudices are justified.
I have the words you posted. I also have your long track record of "explaining" to whoever would listen that you think the lives of people who don't believe in your God cannot have meaning or purpose.
