I mean, it's like Christianity with one more prophet. That's all. It's like all Jews hating all Christians because Christians think Jesus was a prophet. And it can't be Muslim terrorism, because Jewish and Christian terrorism is much more prevalent. It can't be the sexism that pervades the fundamental branches like the Wahabi, because these principles are based on Old Testament principles, and the Old Testament is followed by all Abrahamics to some extent.

So, why?

Who's the 'everyone' you talk of? I thought that Muslims made up a substantial part of the worlds population. Surely they don't hate themselves?
I for one do not hate Muslims or Christians or any large group for that matter. I do dislike the behavior of some Muslims and some Christians and some atheists and sometimes those behaviors are in part a result of their beliefs.

Muslims have got a bad name in the US but that is partly because of 9/11 and the general 'patriotic' culture of the US. But not all Americans hate Muslims either - even the Christian Americans.

I don't personally know any Christians here in SA or at home in Zambia who claim to hate Muslims nor have I heard any of them say anything particularly bad about Muslims in general, though most would quite readily condemn suicide bombers, so do the Muslims I know.

Presumably not in America. The rest of the world recognizes that by Bush's redefinition of terrorism, the US is the biggest terrorist.

OK, so "everyone" was an exaggeration. Do you get my point?

As pointed out by others, not everyone hates Muslims. Some of my best friends .. etc.

However, everyone I know, liberal, conservative, black, white, red, blue, whatever, despises people who use Islam to cover up their corrupt, fascist, totalitarian regimes and their terrorist proxies.

Islamofascism refers to use of the faith of Islam as a cover for totalitarian ideology.
Everybody I know hates Islamofascism. No one I know hates Muslims.

Besides, Muslims are really among the world's most wonderful cooks and storytellers, not to mention architecture and other arts.

For example, I'm in the midst of "My Name is Red" by Orhan Pamuk -- and it is entrancing, a delight, and brings the world of 1520 Istanbul and beyond to life.

I don't care if my neighbor is Estonian, which is the case, or a Martian, as I suspect the English Professor next door may be. So long as they are peaceable, law abiding, good people (or Martians) who cares?

Those who want to spew their hate and violence -- those we will deal with accordingly.

I may not follow Islam or agree with this or that Muslim belief or practice, but they have a right in this country to their religion, and to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I will not stand by, as so many have, and let them be singled out or victimized based on who they are as Muslims -- that is why we have a Holocaust museum on the national mall -- to educate people that just because some so-called muslims flew planes into the World Trade Center, not all Muslims can be faulted for it.

they hang gays in Islamic Iran you know. And converts to christianity are stoned to death in Afghanistan. In Bahli they bombed 'decadent' westerners.
In the UK they blasted civilians in the name of their muslim 'brothers and sisters'.
They called for the beheadings of the newspaper workers who printed pictures of Mohammed.

Yes, i get it, they are one and the same, whether some child is losing his mother or father, his home, his brothers or sisters in Palestine, or some policeman is killed while on duty in Pakistan, or someone dies in a bomb blast in a night club while out with friends or on a London bus, they are all one and the same. Innocents being killed!

Good to know that you can be guilty of the same type of exaggerated extrapolation that you accuse others of.

Maybe if you look inside yourself, you can find part of the answer you are looking for.

Islam is never used to cover a fascist regime. The only fascist regimes in the Middle East that ever were are Lebanon in the 1970s and 1980s, Iran from the 1950s to 1979, and Israel from the 1970s to the present. None of those regimes were Muslim: the first was Maronite/Catholic, the second strictly secular, and the third Jewish-leaning secular. While there certainly are fascist Muslims, there has never been any fascist regimes in any Muslim country, which of course is not necessarily confined to the Middle East, but I mean, do we have to go over Africa and Asia? Thus, the argument of "Islamofascism" falls apart, especially considering Islam is fairly socialist in its ideology, and fascism and socialism are nowhere near the same ideology.

And I'm sick of hearing about the Holocaust. Yes, it was sad, but it happened over 60 years ago, it's over, not only Jews died in it, and we shouldn't be building Holocaust museums in a country that has treated Native Americans, blacks, etc. so badly.

They hanged gays here not even a century ago. They hanged blacks by the hundreds. It's called lynching. I don't know why we're so high and mighty about it.

In the UK, the bombings were sad, but we cannot blame all Muslims for the actions of a ridiculously small minority.

Your telling me!! I am currently on a religious Christian Crusade to free my people from all Muslims within the state in the US in which I live. Currently I have rounded up a group of guys and we take to the streets daily by horse back to rid ourselves of the Islamic horde. The armor is rather burdensome, but I think we have made great strides in ridding the populace of any and all Muslims. We began beheading them on site but then we thought that it sounded to "jihadish", so we decided to impale them instead. I'm sure you have heard all this on the news no doubt. Yep, we are not much different than our jihadish counterparts.

Although I do not hate Muslims and will readily give the shirt off my back to one if he/she needed it, It's very simple: All Muslims aren't suicide bombers nor do all Muslims fly planes into buildings, killing innocnt civilians; however, ALL suicide bombers are Muslims and ALL planes that purposely fly into buildings, killing innocent civilians are flown by Muslims. BTW, Christians believe Jesus to be the Saviour and the only way to Heaven, not just a prophet. Muhammed was a prophet.
