OK so Saudi Arabia clearly don’t have one...

But more seriously here is something to ponder over; of the billions of prayers going up for each of the teams, who’s prayers do you think God will respond to?

If he responds to prayers from supporters of more than one team would that be disingenuous?

If he goes by “the prayers of a righteous man” (or woman) criteria, does he then by default give a false response hope to those who support that team but who failing on the “righteousness” level?

And what about the prayers of the “righteous” who support other teams?

Thoughts?

'Sir, my concern is not whether God is on our side; my greatest concern is to be on God's side, for God is always right.' - Abraham Lincoln.

Obviously, God supports England, it is, therefore, prudent for the righteous to do likewise.

If you understood Romans 12:2 you wouldn't ask that question.

Why, does Romans 12:2 cure people of irony?

Maybe the only prayer is that God will answer our the ones that are God glorifying yourself through the soccer match. Not prayers like pleased that my country win.

No. It cures people from being stupid, and from mocking God with meaningless questions about praying for games in a forum about spiritual matters.

Get the cure, or lose the game.

Why don’t you take a day off from being a supercilious pious prick and just pause to reflect that this is a discussion forum and no one has to conform to your expectations.

Any comments on the OP?

Millions, possibly billions of prayers will go up during the World Cup so these are valid and relevant questions.

But your quote negates the importance of God being on England's side. England needs to be on God's side, according to your quote.

And let's face it folks. If England is on the side of any entity today, it would be the pagan moon god, Allah.

For my wife's sake, viva Mexico!!!
