indeed Texas has not played or beaten anyone and yet remains #2. But then again neither has Boise St at#5 or Alabama. This will all change soon. Texas OU should be good with Bradford back and may settle the matter for Texas. No cakewalk since they have a conference championship unlike the Pac10. Their path is laways easier(Pac10's). Originally posted by no1marauderTrue, but beat them before these teams had jelled. The reality is Cal was way overrated. Alabama's claim is stronger since V.Tech has remained fairly consistent. Boise St. has a cream puff schedule. I'd like them to play Oklahoma now instead of that famous 06 bowl. Boise state should not be ranked as high as it is at all. The rest of the way is laughable for them, but I bet Tulsa might give them a run for their money.

Originally posted by scacchipazzoI seem to recall that Texas was the first team to beat Texas Tech, and everyone said no big deal, Tech must not be any good. Now that Houston beats Tech, Houston is good because they beat Oklahoma State who most thought was overrated, and now the great Texas Tech by a point, in the closing seconds of the game, because the Tech head coach had a brainfart and didn't secure the win. Interesting logic.

Think Tebow will play against LSU...and how effective will he be?
How bad is USC hurt by losing their top RB to a weightlifting mishap?
Originally posted by no1marauderMuch more impressed by VTech than Oregon. I thought Cal was way overrated all along. Oregon just happened to be the first team to expose the warts. The statment is not incorrect, just a difference of opinion.

Originally posted by shortcircuitTexas Tech is not a bad team at all. Houston won by one point after a titanic comeback, no small feat. Where I belive their weakness lies is their D-fense. Texas is a big question mark for me because other than Tech they've played no one. Nver forget Tech plays them tough because they hate Texas. Brainfart or not Houston still had to score to win and they did.

Ready for week 4?
Here are some game that interest me.
Washington vs. ND
LSU vs. Georgia
USC vs Califormia
Oklahoma vs. Miami
To win, I'll take Washington, LSU, USC, and Oklahoma.
As for the games I picked incorrectly, hats off to ND. For the first time this year I was impressed with them. They had three of four goal line stands when it was first and goal. Who woulda thunk it? As for Okahoma, what can I say, the Big Twelve is overrated. No doubt, it will dampen the Texas win over them this year in terms of helping their legitiamcy as the #2 team in the nation. I have to admit, even though a Okalahoma loss helps my Bucheyes in the rankings, I still rooted against Miami. I guess old feelings are hard to break.
I can't help thinking ahead for next week. My Buckeyes will be playing an undefeated Wisconsin team. EEEKKKSS!! Then they will more than likely later face an undefeated Iowa team. EEEKKKS!! Then they will have to face a once defeated Penn State team at their own stadium. EEEEKKKSS!! You know, this season is one of the toughest in recent memory for my Buckeyes. I would be pleasantly surprised if they were to escape unscathed.
Originally posted by EladarOSU is stuck with TP who is not a very good thrower nor is does he make good decisions at times. What you are then stuck with is a very talented scrambler and is perhaps the best athlete on the offensive sde of the ball. What is different this year is that you have NO back up QB to throw in there when you need some passes completed as they had in Boeckman. Nor do you have a good running back like they had in Wells. As for the O line, it has been abysmal as far as I can remeber. What is better this year, however, is the "D". In fact, I wonder if the "D" line could substitute for the "O" line from time to time?
OU just isn't very good this year. Their O-line wasn't going to be very good and the injury bug hit the skill position.
But the team is still talented, perhaps if they get lucky they can beat Texas and win a bowl game.
