I guess now we wait and see which team stumbles before their ultimate meeting.
Bama did look awesome tonight. I do believe these 2 teams will meet again in the SEC championship.

Also, Clemson has torn apart 3 top 20 teams in a row, beating VTech in the blackhole tonight by 20!!!

Did anybody see the end of the Auburn-South Carolina game? How could the refs possibly not give South Carolina time at the end when the replay clearly showed that the receiver was down past the first down marker with more than a second to go? The Gamecocks would have had a shot at a 45 yard FG which could have sent the game into OT if the rules had been followed. That loss could be a big factor in deciding who reaches the SEC title game. Is it too much to ask that the refs get such an obvious call right in such a crucial circumstance?

The replay officials have been mediocre at best in the critical calls.

I have seen half a dozen that should have been overturned and were not.
If I can see it, why can't they?

If they have the equipment and the means to get it right and still blow it,
it is unforgivable.

LSU blasted Florida about as easily as Alabama did (though they were at home).

The SEC is generally a minefield, but these two clearly look like the cream of the crop by far. An unbeaten SEC showdown in November looks like a distinct possibility.

From where I stand, the NCG has 4 contestants. They are Alabama/LSU and Wisconsin/Oklahoma.

Now everyone take your pick as I stand aside and listen to Marauder splain how Boise State either will be there or should be there. However, lets be realistic here. It appears we will once again have a myriad of unbeatens, so who is going to consider Boise a contender if we have 3 or 4 unbeatens?

I would include Stanford in that list.

I don't believe there will be a "myriad" of unbeatens. LSU-Alabama play each other. I'm not convinced of the invincibility of Oklahoma, Wisconsin or Stanford.

Under the BCS system, it's always a long shot for a mid-major like Boise State to make it to the Championship game. If Georgia makes it to the SEC Championship game (who Boise beat convincingly in Atlanta), the Broncos would have to be considered a strong contender if they run the table but probably the SEC champ is in and if any of the other teams stay unbeaten Boise will get passed over. Until there is a playoff system that allows a quality mid-major an on the field chance to beat the Big Boys, the "National Champion" will remain a matter of opinion.

Stanford? Pftt.

Oklamhoma is the politically correct choice. As for the choice between Wisconsin and Stanford, perhaps you have a point. It might be a toss up. As for Boise State, absolutely out of the question. The NCAA would never allow it.

The only certainty is that either ALabama or LSU will be waiting. I guess we must wait fot them to play and then everyone can make their travel arrangements.

Before you dismiss Stanford, remember that Luck is probably the best player in the country,
he is the all time winningest QB in Stanford history (remember a guy named Elway played there,
more than likely Luck will be the first player taken in the draft, and they have a
very good football team who knows how to win.

And Stanford is in a BCS conference but appears to have a much easier schedule than Oklahoma which still has 3 ranked teams to play (including Top Ten Oklahoma St) plus a potential Big 12 Championship Game. They are already ahead of Wisconsin and if they win out would be expected to stay ahead.

I think a Stanford-Alabama/LSU BCS Championship Game is reasonably likely and a very attractive TV matchup (and you know how much the BCS boys like that).

I hope the Big 12 extends invitations to both BYU and Boise State once TCU accepts.

It would be a lot of fun to see how these two programs would handle the rigors of the
BCS conference life.

Do you think the Big 12 will still be around? It seems to me they are breaking apart and their days are numbered.

Of course they will be around. In fact, a formal offer has been made to TCU to join.

Looking at the rankings, I am in error; Wisconsin has moved ahead of Stanford in both the AP and USA Today polls. I still find it hard to believe that an unbeaten Wisconsin would get picked for the BCS Championship Game over an unbeaten Stanford.

It may be a moot point if Oklahoma runs the table.
Oklahoma has some tough games left, as does Wisconsin and Stanford.
Too early yet to predict undefeated seasons for any of them.

If Oklahoma State runs the table including a win over Oklahoma I think should be ranked higher than anyone with the exception of an undefeated SEC winner.
