That's a bit of a stretch - Georgia is a mid-level SEC team at best. Not exactly a solid indicator at this point in the season.
Mediocre SEC team. It would help if you had anything resembling competent English reading and comprehension skills.

Georgia's a top 25 team and a legit contender in the SEC.
Who was right? Who was wrong?

They eeked out wins against Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Florida and lost to South Carolina. They didn't have to play the 3 best in Arkansas, LSU or 'Bama. Their rivalry against Auburn is one of the oldest in the Nation, so anything can and always happens there.
Strange how this wasn't mentioned, but calling them mediocre in the SEC seems pretty accurate to me.

They are playing in the SEC Championship game, have won 9 straight and are 7-1 in the conference. I've never heard an SEC team with such a record being described as "mediocre" before. They were at 14th in the BCS rankings last week, will probably move up a couple of notches this week and quite possibly will break into the Top Ten if they win at Georgia Tech. And they still have a shot at a BCS bid.
Yeah, "mediocre".

You are quite a funny character 😉

They have lost 3 times to Kansas State, the powerful Texas Aggies and the
"mediocre" Oklahoma State.
Guess they really couldn't beat "anybody", now could they?

People will scream but:
Numbers 2, 4, 5 and 7 in the BCS rankings all lost. #3 already lost to #1, #6 was blown out by #3 and #8 and #9 have embarrassing defeats on their resume. Plus there are still a number of possible upsets out there and most of these teams have tough games remaining. It's possible either Arkansas or Georgia will knock off #1 LSU (if Arkansas wins, do they go to the SEC Championship? In that case we could have the ultimate absurdity of a BCS Championship Game between two teams who couldn't even win their division!)
Why not an undefeated Houston in the BCS Championship game? There's no clear deserving one loss team. And Houston would be a fun team to watch unlike the threat of another LSU-Alabama snoozer.
Originally posted by no1marauderThere is no reason to encourage teams to not play tough schedules. Take teams like LSU (even if they were to lose) with one loss and tough out of conference schedules -- not team who play no one and just run up the score.

Originally posted by no1marauderGeorgia did not play the top 3 teams in the SEC (LSU, Arkansas and Alabama). They lost to the next best SEC team on their schedule South Carolina. There are a lot of teams in the country who would have significantly better records if we let them have bye vs. the top three teams in their conference and excused the loss against the toughest team on their schedule.

Originally posted by quackquackThat's utter guesswork on your part. The fact remains that they won their division and will play in the SEC Championship Game. Auburn was ranked #20 in the nation and had a win over South Carolina when they rolled into Athens and suffered a 45-7 beat down.

If they win that, will the "experts" here still say the Bulldogs are "mediocre"?
