A sweep for the higher rated so far and the games were all blowouts besides the Marquette win over Kentucky (Georgia led most of the game but fell apart in the last 10 minutes against Xavier). Hoping that my 3 dogs tonight - Winthrop, George Mason and Kansas State deliver. And hope for some nail biters.

I'm waiting for the 10vrs7 games, I've got

Arizona (10) over WVU
St. Mary's (10) over Miami
Butler (7) over S. 'Bama
Gonzaga(7) over Davidson.

Edit: Xavier gave me quite a scare today, bleh.
Edit2: Who the h is MadnessMania and what are they doing stealing my pick of Texas to win it all.

What a great game Belmont's near upset of Duke was! Guess Winthrop won't make it to the Sweet Sixteen after forgetting how to score in the 2nd half, but I did get the only two lower seeds to win so far, Kansas St. (#11) and Texas A&M (#9). Dead even with Darv after 12 games with the George Mason-Notre Dame game being the 1st day tiebreak.

You may be dead even with Darv, but you trail me by one, and after ND wins it will be two. 😉

First round is irrelevant...only worth 1 pt. as long as your elite 8 teams are still around we all have a shot.

I don't care about you and your "take all the higher seeds" mentality. Darv and I have actual cash on this.

zebano took a big hit when USC lost; he had them as a Final Four team.

I'd say it was the worst first day of a March Madness that I can remember; only one game came down to the last shot, only 3 games were closer than 10 points, the average victory margin was over 16 points and there was only one (mild) upset. I hope Day 2 is a bit more exciting.

You are a real piece of work. I mistakenly thought the idea was to accurately project the winners of the contests, not who can make the boldest (dumbest) predictions. And with that monsterous $20.00 that will bankrupt one of you for sure, this challeneg has become life or death. If you really fancy yourself a gambler though, I can certainly accomodate you. Do you play poker by chance? If so, come join me in Las Vegas the first week in April. I am sure I can give you all the action your heart desires.

Edit: Oh, and learn how to read a bracket. I have several scattered upsets. In fact, the one that may pay off best for me is in the finals, but we will see.

It's gotten a lot better today; two great overtime upsets (one a buzzer beater) and an excellent game between Davidson and Gonzaga. Darv is maintaining his one point lead but in 4 games tonight we have different winners. Shortcircuit has gotten off to an excellent start but few players have been badly hurt yet (though someone had Drake winning it all).

I only missed 2 the entire first round. I should've entered it.

A perfect 8 for 8 yesterday puts me on top. Darv and No1 can stop thinking they are gods for a day 😉

Big day today, looking at the brackets there are alot of differences among us with todays picks. Enjoy, good luck and happy easter.

Michigan State's win over Pitt was big for me and pulled me back within 1 of Darv. 5 of my Elite Eight are already through the second round and none have lost, so I have a lot of chances to grab points.

Oklahoma v. Louisville is mine and Darv's only point of disagreement today; if the Sooners win, I'll pull ahead of him, if not he'll have a 3 point lead after Round 2. You have Butler upsetting Tennessee, which would be a bracket buster for me (I have the Vols going to the finals) and Davidson knocking off Georgetown. I wouldn't mind North Carolina falling to Arkansas; it would really mess up some brackets! Ditto Miami knocking off Texas.
