There's been plenty of 'em... so I'll start you off with 3...
Alan Hansen - never had any 'bottle', and was fortunate to play in a very good side.
Terry Fenwick - I still blame him for Maradona's goals against us in '86. I will never understand how he made a living in professional football.
Paul Ince - ok he had plenty of energy but that was it. Se ...[text shortened]... one with no bottle. Big mouth with nowt to back it up.
...let the arguements begin!
Ince had GREAT energy. In the early days he tried to win the ball too much, but in his late twenties he was world class.

The fittest player to wear a man utd shirt?
Best crosser of the ball England have ever had.
Best set piece taker.

Which one trick are you talking about???
Look at the statistics, no midfielded has scored and set up more goals for England since Charlton.
Ask the Real Madrid crowd who spent the last match chanting his name as he set up all 3 goals against Bayern.
For 4 years, ALL England had was Beckham and Owen.

so you are telling me Blade68.. that Gazza was better then Rooney.. NO WAY.. sorry!!!😲
£10 million was the offer made by Lazio, back then that was crazy. Rooney has too many bad games.
Gazza was the most gifted footballer England have had in the modern era.

Well if you find him attractive... Can't see what else you could mean by fit, maybe you meant best? Don't know about all time, but during Beckham's spell there that was Ryan Giggs.

I hope not. One of the essential requirements of good crossing is the abillity to get behind the defence, something Beckham has always woefully lacked.
Best set piece taker.
Doesn't justify playing with 10 men when the ball is in open play.
Brave
I'll give you that. I wouldn't go near moody pig-face spice even if I was an 80 year old virgin desperate to get laid once before I died.

So are most players in Sunday morning pub teams.

The ability to deliver the kind of ball into the 18 yard box that was called a long ball when the likes of Kevin Gage and Warren Barton were doing it for Wimbledon every Saturday.

Top Scorers
Player Caps Goals
Charlton, Robert (Bobby) 106 49
Lineker, Gary Winston 80 48
Greaves, James Peter 57 44
Owen, Michael 80 36
Shearer, Alan 63 30
Lofthouse, Nathaniel "Nat" 33 30
Finney, Tom 76 30
Woodward, Vivian John 23 29
Bloomer, Steve 23 28
Platt, David Andrew 55 27
Robson, Bryan 90 26
Hurst, Geoffrey Charles 49 24
Mortensen, Stanley Harding 25 23
Lawton, Thomas 23 22
Channon, Mike 46 21
Keegan, Joseph Kevin 63 21
Peters, Martin Stanford 67 20
I see several midfielders in that list but not Beckham. Charlton actually played most of his games as an inside left forward. I don't know of any statistics for goals created, but I'd be surprised if you were right.
Ask the Real Madrid crowd who spent the last match chanting his name as he set up all 3 goals against Bayern.
He has improved as an allround player towards the end of his career.
For 4 years, ALL England had was Beckham and Owen.
Don't know which four years you're talking about here, but I think you'll find Shearer, Scholes, Gerrard and Rooney will fill much of them.

Fit as in aerobic fitness, not just my opinion but Fergie's read his autobiography. That is some statement when you consider Giggs, Robson, keene et al. Even now his level of fitness amazes Capello and is even better than Gerrards and Rooney's.

Not essential as Beckham proves, in fact the ball moves faster, so an attack can be quicker if the pass is earlier.
Van Nistelroy, Shearer and every striker who plays with him, disagree with you. The ability to play the cross when the striker times his runs is essential something that Ronaldo/wright philips/lennon with all their ability, lack.
The ability to deliver the kind of ball into the 18 yard box that was called a long ball when the likes of Kevin Gage and Warren Barton were doing it for Wimbledon every Saturday.
Unfortunately it shows your lack of appreciation of accuraccy, speed and spin Beckham produces if you think that his passes compare to Wimbledon's hoofs. You disagree and think it is a skill that is available at club level. I think that every manager in the premiership would laugh at you.
Arsene Wenger last year said that Beckam and Zidane were the best two passers of the ball in the world. Scolari, Robson and hosts of other top managers said similar.
I see several midfielders in that list but not Beckham. Charlton actually played most of his games as an inside left forward. I don't know of any statistics for goals created, but I'd be surprised if you were right.
The list mostly had strikers AND players from years gone by. It ALSO missed assists. It does not surprise me that you missed the part that Beckham has contributed the most to. I don't get impressed by biased statistics.
You belittle set pieces, yet nearly half the goals scored at the highest level are from them.
Correction: most pub team players THINK they are committed. Every manager he has worked with praise his level of commitment. I do not think you realise that it takes more than running on a pitch for 90 minutes to be committed. As Gary Neville said when asked about Beckhams passing. "Its simple, he has just practised kicking more balls than anybody else."

In that season? I remember only Mabbut, Lineker and Gazza powering Spurs on that season. He was injured midway through. But I thought he hardly ever had a bad game. I remember him destroying arsenal whilst only half fit. He scored some amzing goals that season especially in the cup.
You saw differently?
