A few more for contemplation:
Steve Bruce and Gary Pallister (Utd would have conceded loads without Schmeichal)
Danny Granville (any Palace lads disagree??)
Michael Carrick
Darius Vassell
Craig Bellamy
Anybody who played for Schalke 04 (don't ask why!)

I disagree with all 3 of these I'm afraid!
I'd say they were over-hyped, not over-rated?

Rooney...to pof the over-rated list.
Originally posted by fizzz24Robson wasn't over-rated.... he had everything, and he had attitude and aggression which made him one of the best players around in that era.
Most overated player ever....Brian Robson, nowt to do with pigs appointment
Most underated player ever...Alan Smith @ Man.ure
BTW Alan Hansen was sheer class from what I can remember
Alan Hansen? You're having a laugh!!!
He was fortunate to play in an excellent side - the bloke had no bottle.

Rooney saved United in the 1st leg semi final against AC Milan.
Rooney finished 4th top scorer in the premiership playing in the holding position for United most of the season.
Rooney defends better than any other attacking player in the world.
Rooney gets more assists than any other attacking player.
Rooney does not bolster his goal tally from penalty kicks and free kicks.
Rooney is the most talented English player, yet you jump on the band wagon when he has a bad spell, he's only 21.
Look at the highlights of Rooneys goals, you will never see such diversity.
Rooney consistently scores against Liverpool and Arsenal, so how can you say he is not a big game player?
Rooney is probably the only player in the premiership that can play at the highest level in any position in midfield or attack.
Rooney raised his game in the last 8 weeks of the season, Ronaldo and Drogba faded away.
You should stick to basketball Red Night, that way noone will be bothered to read your posts.

Originally posted by fizzz24Ha ha ha.... Hansen & Lawrenson - the only centre-back pairing that were 'protected' by their whole midfield... neither of 'em had any bottle. Souness ran that team and distributed justice.
