Originally posted by RagnorakI agree with you on Brown. However, I have heard he has been offered £55K but turned it down, wanting nearer to £80k. With Neville nearing the end of his career and the need for a big squad Brown signing for another 4-5 years would be a plus. Shame there isn't any young English right backs Utd could invest in as a replacement for both Neville and Brown.
I've heard it said previously that Brown is about as good as a wet paper bag.
So apparently, not only are Vidic, VDS and Evra carrying the other two to have the best defensive record his year, they are also well on their way to bettering their previous defensive record of just 25 goals in 97/98, having currently conceded 15 with 6 games to go.

[ ...[text shortened]... riker: Benzema or somebody of that quality (not many around) or how about Drogba?!

Also after Utd the only way is down, mid table mediocraty with Newcastle? I think he should re-sign.

Media hype? You don't get paid £100,000 per week because of media hype. I will take Fergusons opinion over yours everytime when it comes to footballing matters.
"You don't get paid 100k per week 'cos of media hype."
If you don't believe me about Ferdinand then, can you explain Lee Carsley to me?
He's another one that is extremely fortunate to making a good living from being a very average player.

With Carsley, he must be doing something right. Everton are a strong team and Carsley does the job his manager asks of him. He is also an International with plenty of experience.

For me, a Premiership footballer should be:
a) able to kick with both feet
b) competent in the air
c) strong in the tackle
d) technically aware
Can you honestly say that Ferdinand and Carsley have all these 4 attributes?

I couldn't give a crap about Carsley.
