Well, who injured who is a matter of opinion but he collapsed unconscious after clashing heads with 2 opposing players. I tell you, there's no better start to a football season then seeing your team's star attacker lying motionless as he's stretchered off the field in the first game! Thankfully, he's all better now though.

He served us brilliantly as well. 2nd highest scorer in the Premiership last season. It's no wonder we were so desperate to keep him.

Despite a few good seasons recently, there's still plenty of room in the "cabinet". And I think you'll find that the traditional "big clubs" (ie not those plucked from impending bankruptcy a few years ago) have a trophy room, as a cabinet simply wouldn't suffice.

More trophies than any other EPL club this century - but don't let facts get in the way of making yourself look like a plum.

More tropies from the 70's and 80's yes, you were a big club.

But have not been a contender for the main trophy for 18 years though.
The only trophy that really matters, the League Title.
Liverpool have not even been close to winning it.
I would say that you are no longer classed as a modern day big club.

Barcelona, Madrid, Munich, Milan, Chelsea, Arsenal, Lyon, Mancester United, Juventus are all modern day Big Clubs.

They have consistently been champions of their country and when they are not they are contenders and not out of it by November.

Liverpool have never had a sniff of the League for 18 years, you are the most sucessful club in England but no longer a recognised title contender or a modern day big club.

You just have not competed for 18 years.

And you were never able to win the treble when you were a big club.

You have your memories though, a team full of Everton supporters and bedtime stories for the kids.

Yes.

Along time ago in a footballing era far far away.....

Liverpool won more tropheys than any other team this century but they were never able to win THE Treble.

However in modern day football the only BIG CLUBS that continually challenge and win their Countries League Championship are:-

Barcelona, Madrid, Munich, Milan, Chelsea, Arsenal, Lyon, Mancester United, Juventus, Celtic and are all modern day Big Clubs.

I don't think you can class a team that hasn't won it's domestic championship, or even looked close to winning it in 18 years can be classed as a BIG CLUB anymore.

Liverpool are a BIG CLUB in the CUP Competitions (a cup side) but domestically they are never anywhere near contending for the Chamionship, so they are no longer a BIG CLUB, big history but a small club domestically in modern day football, just live Everton as Rafa said.

I mean, Rafa gets all upset when Liverpool loses a few points againts Everton.
So Liverpool would have finished 19 points behind Manchester United instead of 21 if Everton hadn't played like a small club.

Small club talk from a small club playing another small club.
