Swept by Milwaukee....and the streak is now at four losses in a row.
New acquisition Broxton gets burned today.
You obviously didn't watch the game; they didn't hit a ball hard off Broxton. Swinging bunt down the 3B line, a blooper an inch or so over the SS' glove and a hit off the end of the bat by Braun that dunked is because they had to play him deep. That's baseball, but Broxton has been pitching well.

Pirates lose at home to the D-Backs, so if we get our act together tonight in Chicago the lead will be back where it was exactly one week ago.
The Cubs starter was 1-8. Interesting.
St. Louis picks up another full game.....now 5 back
Pittsburgh remains 2.5 games back.

Originally posted by shortcircuitThe slide is over; the Reds beat the Cubs 10-8 in a sloppy game at Wrigley with the wind blowing in. Chapman great as almost always.

Cards get stopped by Halladay, Pirates lose at home to the Padres. Order is restored and the lead is the same as it was last Thursday.
Hoo-hum. Cueto and Chapman toss a shutout. Pirates finally get a win off the Padres (with a 9 run inning) but the "pesky" Cardinals blow a three run lead in the 8th on slugger Eric Kratz's HR and then lose in the bottom of the 10th on a Juan Pierre infield hit with two outs after Jimmy Rollins steals third. They are now 7 games back.

Lead up to 6 over the Pirates (who are starting to play like the Pirates). That's our largest of the year.
Way too much baseball left to be played. You know that too.
