As Blade said, Messi would be a more than able replacement, although obviously impossible.
I know this is probably an alien concept for you, Boy, but unlike Liverpool, United aren't a 1/2 man team. To identify a kid and get him for £12m and then get £80m for a player who hasn't wanted to be there for over a year is obviously good business.
In terms ith the squad and put us in an even better position than last season. Good business!

I'd say United were as reliant on Ronaldo as Liverpool are on Gerrard. And if Liverpool are just a "1/2 man team" then how the hell did they boss (the team formerly known as the best club side in the world until they got played off the park by Barcelona) Man Utd at Anfield with neither of them in the side?

Edit - as Palynka said, let's see who you buy with the money and whether or not they turn out to be the next Nani / Berbatov (£50M gone right there) before we judge whether or not it was good business in a football sense.

This is to man to not only replace, but make Ronaldo pale into insignificance.
Hope his agent is speaking the truth. It would be a typical Ferguson move.
