Originally posted by dickySame is true with the Giants. There are a lot of quality teams out there and some slow starters who will figure prominantly when the season is farther along. If the Gianst are still undefeated in the 12th week, then you have something, but this season is too early yet. Hell, you never know who will get hurt and who will rise from the ashes. It is way too early to call anyone's number yet.
But what about the Giant's?
Originally posted by shortcircuitI'm a Titans fan and I feel as long as Kerry is in there they will continue winning. VY sucks, he's garbage, he's just another Micheal Vick who's got a slightly better arm. VY was almost as bad a pick as Pacman Jones. I'd rather have Leinart over VY but Cutler was clearly the choice to go with for an offense in need of a quarterback. Collins will manage the game for the Titans, he's not in there to make spectacular plays, he's in there to be efficient and manage the game which he has done pretty well so far. Their offense is not as bad as everyone thinks, they are decent enough to do damage in the playoffs.
I don't think the Titans can win with Kerry Collins at the helm for the season. The longer they sit VY the more he will sulk. The defense is strong now, but they haven't played any real offensive juggernauts yet.
It is way to early to project a super bowl trip just yet.

I guess you figured a QB comes right into the league as a stud. Some rare ones do, but most don't.

Originally posted by shortcircuitVY's best year was his rookie year. Last year he got worse than his rookie year and just was absolutely horrible. VY can't throw it, he can make special plays with his legs but he can't throw it. I'd rather have a pocket quarterback than one who can't throw but can run. I'm not saying Collins is the long term answer either, but he is certainly the answer for right now. VY needs to sit and learn and HOPEFULLY get better sitting behind a seasoned veteran. But if he doesn't improve as a passer he will be another bust in the NFL.

Originally posted by JohnLennonForeverHow about trying doing what Tennessee has never done....win a Super Bowl? Not going to happen this year either, but enjoy the ride while it lasts. The wheels always come off of Bottom Line Bud's Buggy!!!
Looks like we are the only undefeated team left. 🙂 Let's do what the Pats couldn't do last year. LOL
Originally posted by shortcircuitA win is a win, doesn't matter who you play. At least the Titans are taking care of ALL of their games so far unlike any other team in the league. Plus the Chiefs managed to beat the Broncos who have to be considered one of the AFC's ELITE teams RIGHT NOW.
Against the Chiefs?.... Big deal!!
Before anointing the Titans as Super Bowl champions, it must be noted that the combined record of their opponents is 12-26. They've won all their games, true, but I'd say only two were "quality" wins: the narrow victories over Jacksonville (at home) and the last minute win over the Ravens in Baltimore. I personally don't think they score enough to go all the way.
Originally posted by no1marauderI'm not saying or anointing them Super Bowl champions. But they are the best team in the NFL right now and you cannot deny that. As for their scoring, they are scoring more than enough points. They are averaging 24.8 points a game which is right around 9th or 10th in scoring. So if they consistently score 24 points a game for the rest of the season and their D continues giving up the same amount of points they are giving up, they will win EVERY game. They are only allowing 11 points or so a game and no team has scored more than 17 points against them. So I'd say they have a good shot at winning the Super Bowl.

Originally posted by JohnLennonForeverYou're PPG average is inflated by playing a creampuff schedule; in their two games against .500 teams, the Titans managed only 30 points total. The offense is a mere 21st in yards and the Kerry Collins led passing game is 26th. The league average per game is 22.5 so having slightly above the league average against .316 competition isn't very impressive.

With an offense so anemic, I doubt they'll sniff the Super Bowl. It looks to me like the Steelers are the team to beat in the AFC; they're winning impressively even without Parker and he'll be back sooner rather than later. That has caused their offense to struggle particularly in the Philly game, but in the long run their offense is better than Tennessee's and their defense just as good (at least). It's true they have a far tougher schedule than the Titans (it's a lot easier playing the NFC Central rather than the NFC East), so the Titans might have a good shot at home field but that takes you only so far in the playoffs.
Originally posted by JohnLennonForeverI think Pittsburgh is a much better team than Tennessee. I think the Colts are better as well, although they are very banged up right now which bodes well for the upcoming matchup. I even think the Brady-less Patriots are at least equivilent to the Titans. Echoing my earlier statement, who have they played?
